Summary: The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence and characteristics of headaches in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients treated with disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). The study found that more than half of MS patients experienced headaches, with the prevalence of migraines being almost three times higher than tension-type headaches. Migraines in MS patients had high severity and typical migraine characteristics.

Summary: Repetitive neuromuscular magnetic stimulation (rNMS) is a feasible and safe treatment for pediatric headache disorders, providing relief from headache symptoms. This study found that rNMS targeting the upper trapezius muscles significantly increased pressure pain thresholds (PPT) and sustained the effects for 3 months. The effectiveness of rNMS varied depending on the type of headache and the presence of neck pain, with patients with neck pain responding better to treatment. Two rNMS sessions per week led to the highest reduction in headache frequency.

Summary: According to this study, migraine in children and adolescents is more associated with depression, while tension-type headache (TTH) is more associated with anxiety. Therefore, it is important to consider psychological symptoms in the diagnosis and treatment of primary headache disorders.

Summary: This study examined the distribution of different primary headache disorders in a large cohort of patients with diagnosed epilepsy. The most common headache types in epilepsy patients were migraine and tension-type headache. Female epilepsy patients reported headaches significantly more often than male patients. Monotherapy in antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) might have a beneficial effect on the frequency of headache compared to polytherapy.

Summary: This article summarizes the epidemiological studies of headache disorders globally, finding that headache disorders remain highly prevalent worldwide, and identifies methodological factors explaining the large variation between study findings. While migraine prevalence estimates increased over time, estimates for all headache types varied between world regions.

Summary: Headache attributed to Temporomandibular Disorder (HATMD) is a common secondary headache among patients with chronic myogenous TMD and primary headaches, often presenting as migraine. Unlike primary headaches, HATMD is associated with higher headache frequency and examination-evoked masticatory muscle pain, but surprisingly few measures of facial pain, general health, and psychological distress. Understanding these differences is important for developing targeted strategies for HATMD management.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis examined the effects of non-pharmacological treatments on acute headaches in patients with episodic migraine and tension-type headache. The results showed that neuromodulation, acupuncture, and aerobic exercises were associated with reduced headache symptoms. However, further high-quality studies are needed for more detailed conclusions.

Summary: Dry needling does not show significant advantages in short-term relief of headache pain intensity for patients with TTH and CGH, but is more effective in improving related disabilities. Further high-quality studies are needed.

Summary: There is a possible association between migraine, anxiety, and depression with insomnia in university students, but not with tension-type headache. The severity of insomnia is positively correlated with the impact and frequency of headaches.

Summary: This article explores the similarities and differences in the pathophysiology, epidemiology, burden and disability, comorbidities, and responses to treatments between tension-type headache (TTH) and migraine. Distinguishing between the two in clinical practice and research is challenging due to the lack of specific diagnostic tests and biomarkers. The article also discusses future research directions to address diagnostic challenges and improve the understanding and management of these conditions.

Summary: The study demonstrated the efficacy and safety of erenumab in adults with episodic migraine from Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Both doses of erenumab showed significant advantages in reducing migraine days and acute migraine-specific medication treatment days. This extends evidence of erenumab's effectiveness and safety to under-represented patient populations in previous trials.

Summary: Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is endemic in Malaysia, with the number of cases increasing. A study conducted in Sabah found that the genotype shift of enterovirus might be responsible for the increasing trend of HFMD, especially between 2017 and 2018. Further research is needed to fully understand the genetic variations and their impact on the disease.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the types of personality traits among patients with migraine and tension-type headache (TTH), and investigate if coexisting dyspepsia affected these traits. The results showed that headache with dyspepsia was associated with higher neuroticism, especially in TTH patients with dyspepsia compared to those without dyspepsia.

Summary: This single-center study analyzed laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases among healthcare workers in a tertiary hospital in Malaysia. Around 37.4% of the healthcare workers were suspected of acquiring COVID-19 infection from the hospital. Factors associated with lower odds of workplace transmission were being females, older than 30 years, fully vaccinated, and working as clinical support staff. Involvement in COVID-19 patient care was significantly associated with higher odds of workplace transmission compared to non-workplace transmission. It is important to communicate with healthcare workers about the risk of both workplace and non-workplace transmission and implement measures to reduce both types of transmission.

Summary: Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) is a devastating infection, and this study aimed to evaluate MRI perfusion cerebral changes in TBM patients before and after anti-tuberculous therapy. The results showed significant differences in perfusion parameters between infarcted regions, normal appearing contralateral brain, and control subjects pre- and post-treatment. Increased rCBF and rCBV were seen in infarcted regions post-treatment, while the contralateral brain of TBM patients showed ischemic changes.
