Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the safety and utility of an at-home telemedicine with telemonitoring program for discharged COVID-19 patients. The results showed that patients monitored via telemedicine had a significantly shorter first hospital stay, a lower readmission rate, and a shorter second hospital stay compared to patients in the rest of Galicia.

Summary: This study compared the effect of telemedicine and telemonitoring on COVID-19 patients in Galicia, Spain, and found that patients monitored remotely had lower rates of emergency department visits, hospitalizations, shorter hospital stays, and lower first hospitalization mortality rate, indicating that this care model helps reduce pressure on hospital services and lower mortality rate.

Summary: A COVID-19-specific Hospital-at-Home initiative in Barcelona, Spain effectively reduced transmission risk and increased bed capacity, with only a small percentage of cases requiring referral for inpatient care. The results suggest the approach is promising and may be valuable for future outbreaks.

Summary: We conducted a two-phase study to test the reliability and usability of an all-in-one artificial intelligence-based device (ButterfLife) that monitors five vital signs simultaneously. The first phase compared ButterfLife's measurements with standard of care (SoC) in hospitalized patients with respiratory failure, revealing the largest difference in respiratory rate. The second phase evaluated ButterfLife's performance in detecting clinical conditions and found it to be highly sensitive and specific, with high patient satisfaction.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis found that non-invasive home telemonitoring did not significantly reduce all-cause hospitalizations and mortality in patients with recently decompensated heart failure. However, interventions that directly altered heart failure medication showed significant effects on reducing all-cause hospitalizations.

Summary: This study investigates patient-reported satisfaction, usability, and safety of a digital health-supported home hospitalisation intervention for heart failure patients. The findings show high patient satisfaction, reasonable usability scores, and comparable safety outcomes with traditional hospitalisations. Digitally supported home hospitalisation could be an alternative to in-hospital care.

Summary: The recent introduction of remote ventilator telemonitoring has the potential to significantly impact home-assisted ventilation care by allowing for early data review, optimization of settings, and troubleshooting. While remote monitoring may reduce costs associated with emergency room visits and hospitalizations, there are barriers to widespread implementation in countries like the United States.

Summary: This study aims to describe the reasons for hospitalizations among community-living persons with dementia participating in a dementia care coordination study, and how these reasons vary by disease stage. The results show that infections and falls are the most common reasons for hospitalization, and the reasons vary based on the severity of functional impairment.

Summary: Hospital at home is an innovative care model that is particularly suitable for heart failure patients. It provides a patient-centered and effective alternative to traditional outpatient and inpatient care. Current research supports its safety and cost-effectiveness, and new payment structures are being introduced to support its development.

Summary: The evidence suggests that home-based end-of-life care programs can increase the likelihood of patients dying at home. However, the impact of home-based end-of-life care on patient outcomes, symptom control, caregiver satisfaction, and healthcare costs remains uncertain.

Summary: A study analyzed physician-related variables in the treatment outcomes of Neuro-reflexotherapy (NRT) for 9023 patients treated by 12 physicians within the Spanish National Health Service, suggesting reasonable variability in results obtained by different NRT-certified specialists. This indicates that current training standards for NRT are appropriate.
