They have leveraged over two decades of experience and existing resources to inform their ambitious conservation plans. With over 514.12 km(2) of protected marine reserves, 14 years of ecological survey data, and a strong digital infrastructure, they have laid a solid foundation for advancing the community-based marine conservation movement. Parallel efforts in regulation, action, data access, transparency, and coordination have also contributed to their progress, and future interventions will focus on innovation while involving communities.
