Dongtiao River Bridge in Huzhou, China is a new type of bridge based on a spatial cable self-anchored suspension and cable-stayed cooperation system. A temporary pylon-girder anchorage method is proposed in order to build a girder without falsework and thus avoid interruptions to the operation of the shipping channel. A temporary crossbar method is developed to transform the configuration of the cable system from a plane to a 3D curve, thus preventing buckling damage to hangers in the hanging girder segments. With the unique characteristics of the structure system and the innovative construction method, self-anchored cable-supported bridges can be improved.
