Summary: Selective adsorption of palladium (Pd(II)) from a multi-metal solution was achieved using pH-dependent selective adsorbent PEI-chitin. The adsorption capacity of PEI-chitin for Pd(II) was higher than other commercial adsorbents, with faster adsorption kinetics observed. In column experiments, PEI-chitin demonstrated good selectivity and regenerability for Pd(II).

Summary: In this study, a novel MOF adsorbent (UiO-66-QU) was prepared and characterized, and its Hg(II) adsorption performance was investigated. The results showed that UiO-66-QU has better Hg(II) adsorption capacity than UiO-66-NH2, and the adsorption process is mainly monolayer chemical adsorption. The adsorbent exhibits excellent reusability and selectivity, making it promising for the removal of Hg(II) from wastewater.

Summary: An efficient adsorbent, SG(AC), was developed from the dead leaves of Halodule uninervis seagrass through a chemical and thermal activation process for the removal of DMP and DCP from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent showed high adsorption capacities, fitted Freundlich and Langmuir models, followed pseudo-second-order kinetics, and could remove 90% of DMP and 97% of DCP from synthetic wastewater, indicating its efficiency and reusability for at least four times.

Summary: A porous nanosilica adsorbent (WPSN) with a worm-like channel structure and a large surface area was prepared through a green method, showing high adsorption capacity and selectivity for cationic dyes. The adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorption isotherm followed the Langmuir isotherm. The adsorption process was found to be exothermic and spontaneous based on thermodynamic analysis. The reusability tests demonstrated that 90% of the adsorption rate could still be maintained after 6 cycles.

Summary: Organic synthetic sorbent materials with cross-linked network structures are preferred for cleaning petroleum-based pollution. These sorbents have hydrophobic properties, allowing them to selectively collect organic liquids from water surfaces. They can quickly reach their absorption capacity, can be reused, and do not sink in water, making them ideal for cleaning petroleum-derived impurities.
