Summary: Novel derivatives of 5-(5-bromothiophen-2-oyl)-2-(phenylamino)thiophen-3-yl) ethylidene-hydrazinylthiazole and 2-(5-bromothiophen-2-oyl)thieno[2,3-b]pyridine were prepared and evaluated for their electronic and chemical reactivity. Compound 6 exhibited the lowest HOMO energy value, LUMO energy value, and energy gap. The di-2-thienyl ketone derivatives incorporating thiazole ring showed the highest antioxidant activity among the synthesized compounds.

Summary: The title compounds, 3-(p-phenylphenyl)-3-hydroxy-N-isopropyl-4,4-dimethylazetidin-2-one (2d) and 3-phenyl-3-hydroxy-N-isopropyl-4,4-dimethylazetidin-2-one (2a), were synthesized by photoreaction of N,N-diisopropyl(p-phenylphenyl)glyoxylamide 1d and N,N-diisopropylphenylglyoxylamide 1a, respectively, in solution. The formation of the compounds was confirmed by various spectroscopic techniques and X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of compounds 2d and 2a belong to the orthorhombic and monoclinic systems, with space groups Pna2(1) and P2(1)/c, respectively.

Summary: This study synthesized a new thiosemicarbazone compound, 2-chloroacetophenone 4-ethyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (2ClAcTSC), and found that it exhibited better inhibition effects on mild steel in hydrochloric acid solution. The inhibitive efficiency increased with higher inhibitor concentrations. Scanning Electron Microscopy results confirmed the adsorption of the inhibitor on the mild steel surface forming a protective layer.

Summary: Three novel thiosemicarbazone compounds were synthesized and characterized in this study. The experimental and theoretical results showed that intramolecular weak interactions play a role in maintaining the stability of molecular structure. Various quantum chemical methods were used to explore the molecular properties and reactive sites of the compounds, shedding light on their potential mechanisms of action in reactions.

Summary: We investigate the crystal structure, magnetization, and specific heat measurements of single crystals of the hexagonal polar magnet Co2-xZnxMo3O8. It is found that Zn doping can preserve the robust antiferromagnetic behavior in Co2Mo3O8 up to x = 0.55. The observed effects in the lattice parameter, Curie-Weiss temperature, and magnetic entropy can be attributed to the site-selective Zn substitution, which is dependent on the coordination of the Co2+ ions.

Summary: The tetratopic ligands 1 and 2 were prepared and characterized, and their combination with [M(hfacac)(2)] under crystal growth conditions led to the formation of different coordination polymers. The X-ray analysis revealed the assembly of a planar (4,4)-network, and the metal coordination modes differed between copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes, leading to distinct architectures.

Summary: Many compounds with the PUSC structure, including cinnamamide derivatives, have been found to effectively inhibit tyrosinase. The addition of a dithionate functional group to cinnamamide derivatives produces new compounds with high skin permeability and stronger inhibitory effects on tyrosinase. Kinetic studies and docking results confirm the mechanism of inhibition, and further research reveals the antioxidant and anti-melanogenic effects of these compounds. These findings provide a reference for the development of novel anti-melanogenesis agents.

Summary: Hydrogen production is an eco-friendly and renewable energy source that reduces dependence on fossil fuels. The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) can directly produce hydrogen gas through water photoelectrolysis using appropriate electrocatalysts, such as Nickel(II) N(4)-morpholinyl isatin-3-thiosemicarbazone complex, which has a high efficiency due to its delocalized electron density.
