Summary: An Improved Cascade Chaotic Invasive Weed Optimization Algorithm (ICCIWO) is proposed, which utilizes cascade chaotic maps in a metaheuristic optimization algorithm to tune controller parameters. The conventional invasive weed optimization algorithm (IWO) has been used to solve optimization problems, but it lacks population diversity and exploration capability. This paper introduces two novel improvements based on chaotic behaviors in population generation and standard deviation update to overcome these limitations. The proposed mechanism is successfully applied to tune PID controller parameters and solve benchmark optimization problems, achieving high performance compared to a recent similar approach.

Summary: Two margin-based design methods, namely Predefined Marginally Robust (PMR) and Self-Setting Marginally Robust (SMR), are proposed for tuning decentralized PI controllers for multivariable systems. PMR solves a constrained optimization problem based on the desired phase and gain margins, while SMR uses a many-objective optimization problem to find the optimal margins and controller coefficients. These methods combine simplicity and effectiveness, offering a practical solution for tuning industrial multivariable controllers.

Summary: This article proposes a robust delay dependent stability analysis of the pitch control system of large wind turbines with communication time delay, utilizing fractional order PID controller and FOPID controller for pitch angle control. Furthermore, a more robust control scheme is presented and analyzed with better performance metrics compared to previous studies in the literature.
