Summary: A dinoflagellate cyst biostratigraphy for the upper Campanian-basal Maastrichtian (Upper Cretaceous) of the Middle Vistula River section, central Poland, is developed. The study shows good correlation between the Middle Vistula River section and other regions of Europe in terms of the chronostratigraphic distribution of particular dinoflagellate cyst events. This study expands the knowledge of dinoflagellate cyst distribution in the Campanian-Maastrichtian boundary interval and contributes to a better understanding of correlations between different regions.

Summary: This study conducted taxonomic and biochronostratigraphic analyses of dinoflagellate cysts from 26 cutting samples from well 1-SCS-2 in the northern part of the Pelotas Basin, revealing that the palynological assemblages are composed of continental and marine taxa, dominated by dinoflagellate cysts. Six palynochronostratigraphic intervals were defined in the sediments of the Imbe acute accent Formation and the Cidreira Formation.
