Summary: This research explores the impact of consumer's strategic buying behavior on pricing strategy and identifies the optimal pricing strategy through comparing profits. High-low pricing is only suitable when the offered markdown discount is relatively small. If strategic consumers are few and require a large discount, retailers can ignore strategic buying behavior and sell products at a fixed price.

Summary: This study proposes a two period pricing model to investigate platforms' offering strategy of consumer credit and responding pricing policy. The study finds that the platform is willing to offer credit when the credit risk and hassle cost are not sufficiently high, and interest-free credit is sometimes more attractive. Credit offering decreases prices and affects the demand in both periods. It may mitigate passive waiting behavior but aggravate consumer strategic waiting.

Summary: Green innovation plays a critical role in the development of green supply chains. Governments often provide targeted innovation subsidies to encourage enterprises to implement green innovation. Game analysis suggests that subsidizing the core manufacturer at the supply chain level can stimulate the entire chain, leading to environmental, economic, and social benefits. The government is more inclined to subsidize manufacturers as subsidies for green innovation increase and the proportion of green consumers grows.

Summary: This paper examines the remanufacturing strategy of a monopolist original equipment manufacturer under cap-and-trade regulation, taking into account the assimilation effect. The study finds that the assimilation effect reduces the manufacturer's motivation for engaging in remanufacturing. Additionally, the impact of the assimilation effect is influenced by factors such as emission advantage and carbon trading price.

Summary: We conducted a comprehensive study on consumer surplus estimation in the ride-hailing market in Nanjing, China, using multi-day data of around 200,000 daily ride-hailing trips. Our results show that the surge elasticity of demand is the lowest during peak hours, higher in urban areas during the off-peak, and the consumer surplus per kilometer is lower in urban areas compared to suburban areas. These findings are relevant for both ride-hailing companies and policymakers.

Summary: In this study, the best remanufacturing strategy for OEM and IR in an innovative industry is investigated, taking into account the consumer valuation of products and the level of innovation. The research focuses on including innovative features in remanufactured products instead of passively carrying over product quality. Three remanufacturing strategies are considered: not remanufacturing, remanufacturing without adding innovative features, and remanufacturing with upgrades. The impact of competition and remanufacturing strategy on firms' environmental impact and consumer surplus is analyzed.

Summary: The study found that consumers willing to purchase innovative products are more likely to consume fruits and fruit preserves, with significant differences in income, purchase expenditures, purchase locations, and product characteristics. Logistic regression results indicate that the frequency of supermarket/hypermarket and online shopping, weekly spending on fruit, and emphasis on packaging biodegradability can impact consumer preferences for innovative products relative to fruit products.

Summary: With behavior-based pricing, retailers use purchase records to differentiate prices between new and past customers. This study examines the impact of behavior-based pricing on retailers' profits in the presence of asymmetric sales channels. The findings provide insights into the profitability of behavior-based pricing for retailers and the role of purchasing convenience in pricing decisions.

Summary: The study found that women value convenience and proximity to home more; price is more important to younger and lower-income shoppers, while quality, convenience, interaction with farmers/producers, and food origin are more important to older shoppers. Content analysis showed that FM shoppers appreciate the atmosphere and the quality, variety, and convenience provided by FMs, but dislike the lack of clear information such as product labels and websites.

Summary: This paper examines the impact of price-related factors on consumer choices in the Chinese luxury watch market and investigates the positive prestige effect and negative substitution effect on consumer preferences. The study finds that there is heterogeneity in the prestige effect at both the consumer and brand levels, with a U-shaped relationship between family income and prestige sensitivity. Top-tier luxury watch brands demonstrate a stronger prestige effect compared to lower-tier brands. What-if simulations suggest that brand promotion and enhanced prestige are advantageous for top-tier brands. Income escalation benefits top-tier luxury watch brands, but its impact on lower-tier brands is intricate.

Summary: In order to generate profits and support a sustainable environment, forward-looking firms are adapting to the trend of used-product transactions among individual consumers. This study investigates the effects of consumer-to-consumer (C2C) resale platform (CRP) on the market from both economic and environmental perspectives. The results show that all market participants can profit from the presence of CRP, albeit at the expense of aggravated environmental impact. Overall, the importance of this study lies in understanding the implications of CRP on market dynamics and environmental sustainability. Rating: 8/10.

Summary: Since August 2018, African swine fever (ASF) has caused over one million pig deaths in China and led to a surge in pork prices. To address this issue, the Chinese government has implemented two farm subsidies: the compulsory culling subsidy (CCS) and the large-scale breeding subsidy (LBS). Through a game-theoretic model, the study explores the optimal design of these subsidy programs and their impacts on different stakeholders.

Summary: This study examines whether the threshold parameter in the Omega ratio represents risk aversion by analyzing the asymptotic expansions for risk premia. The results suggest that the threshold in the Omega ratio represents risk aversion when the variance of the additional risk decreases with the background risk and when the density of the background risk is log-concave. Comparisons with expected utility criteria indicate that the conditions for the Omega threshold to represent risk aversion are comparable to those for exponential utility functions.

Summary: In this study, we investigate a supply chain system consisting of a retailer and a supplier. We examine the threshold problem in contract design and take into account the risk preference of the retailer and the fairness concern of the supplier. The experiment shows that the behavior of the retailer affects the threshold of the optimal contract design, while the behavior of the supplier only affects the optimal wholesale price. These findings suggest that the behavior of retailers and suppliers play a crucial role in the mechanism design of supply chains.
