The side effects of broad-spectrum antibiotics and the lag in developing new antibiotics limit their effectiveness in treating infections. Monoclonal antibodies have shown promise in treating infectious diseases through various mechanisms, but further research and development are needed.

However, photothermal therapy has limitations such as high cost and complexity. Multimodal photothermal therapies have emerged as a solution to enhance efficiency in recent years.

Summary: The emergence of antibiotic resistance superbugs highlights the urgent need to address the global problem of antibiotic resistance. Among various methods, the development of supplemental therapies for antibiotics, such as bacteriophage therapy, could be a viable infection control option. However, the safe and regulated application of phage treatment requires extensive understanding of the characteristics and behavior of specific phage-bacterium systems. This mini-review provides an overview of the potential and challenges of phage therapy as an accepted infection management strategy.

Summary: This study developed a novel adjuvant-like biomimetic nanovesicle by incorporating meropenem-loaded polyamidoamine dendrimer into platelet membrane vesicles, which enabled targeted drug release and enhanced efficacy while minimizing off-target toxicity. The nanovesicles showed promising results in treating infections by NDMs-producing superbugs, reducing resistance evolution and maintaining safety.
