Summary: This study aimed to investigate patient satisfaction after proximal fibular osteotomy and identify risk factors for dissatisfaction. The study found that proximal fibular osteotomy is a simple and effective treatment for medial osteoarthritis patients, with a majority of patients being satisfied with the treatment outcome at mid- to long-term follow-up. However, severe medial osteoarthritis is an independent risk factor for dissatisfaction.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the clinical and radiological progression of patients with medial compartment knee osteoarthritis who underwent proximal fibular partial excision (PFPE) surgery. The results showed that PFPE surgery was effective in reducing pain and improving function, but did not significantly improve preoperative and postoperative tibiofemoral angle and JLCA measurements.

Summary: Proximal fibular osteotomy (PFO) can relieve pain and improve knee function in medial compartment SONK patients through decompression, and promote the recovery of the necrotic area.

Summary: PFO and HTO have similar short-term efficacy in treating KOA, but PFO can reduce operation time, intraoperative bleeding, hospital stay, and postoperative complications, providing certain advantages. For patients with multiple complications and poor surgical tolerance, PFO may be preferred clinically.

Summary: The study demonstrates that patients undergoing PFO for medial joint OA of the knee can maintain significant improvements in pain relief, clinical function, and radiological outcomes for a period of one year postoperatively.

Summary: This study aims to compare the clinical outcomes between tibia osteotomy with absorbable spacer combined with fibular osteotomy (TPOASI) and opening-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OW-HTO) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The results show that both procedures have similar clinical scores, radiographic results, and complications, but TPOASI has the advantage of avoiding internal fixation removal.

Summary: The study analyzed the impact of proximal tibiofibular dislocation on closing-wedge high tibial osteotomy, finding that TFJD increases the risk of patients converting to total knee replacement and lowers the osteotomy survival rate, especially for patients with a postoperative FTA <= 180 degrees. In this patient group, those with TFJD had a higher proportion of requiring TKR and at a shorter time.

Summary: This meta-analysis critically assessed the clinical and radiological outcome of proximal fibular osteotomy (PFO) in the management of medial compartment knee osteoarthritis. The results showed that PFO successfully improved knee function and pain levels in patients, with minimal complication rates. Additionally, PFO was associated with an improved medial/lateral joint space ratio.

Summary: The study compared the perioperative complications, short-term clinical outcomes, patient-reported outcomes, and radiographic parameters of tibiofibular proximal osteotomy combined with absorbable spacer insertion (TPOASI) and open-wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) in a two-year postoperative time period. The results showed that both TPOASI and OWHTO had satisfactory functional outcomes and pain relief, but TPOASI had fewer complications and was a simpler and more feasible method, hence it could be widely used.

Summary: Meniscal extrusion is a crucial factor in knee osteoarthritis treatment and is influenced by various risk factors. Proximal fibula osteotomy has shown promising results in reducing extrusion by modifying joint biomechanics. This technique may be a simple and minimally invasive treatment option for degenerative meniscal extrusion.

Summary: The study revealed the association between proximal tibiofibular joint (PTFJ) morphology and knee alignment in osteoarthritis (OA) patients, with higher relative articular height and lower declination angle increasing the likelihood of valgus knee alignment.

Summary: The prevalence of knee osteoarthritis is increasing in both Sweden and globally, leading to a growing demand for knee arthroplasties. By using deep learning, it is possible to teach artificial intelligence to accurately diagnose and classify the severity of knee osteoarthritis without cleaning input data.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of patients with KL grade 3 and 4 osteoarthritis after TKA and found that they had similar improvement at all time points up to 2 years. Therefore, there is no justification for denying surgical treatment to patients with KL grade 3 osteoarthritis.
