Summary: Nowadays, many people use clear aligners to address their dental issues. This study observed 35 patients who used Nuvola((R)) clear aligners for orthodontic therapy. The aligner treatments demonstrated high adherence to the prescription, with more bias found in gingival measures. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of outcomes.

Summary: Retention is a crucial phase in orthodontic treatment, and both fixed and removable retainers can effectively maintain the results. This study assessed the efficacy of using removable restraints versus fixed solutions for long-term outcomes. Different retainer systems have their advantages and requirements in terms of patient compliance and maintenance.

Summary: Dental anxiety has a significant impact on both children and adults, leading to avoidance of dental care and increased emergency dental treatment. A study shows that the use of therapy dogs in dental clinics can reduce anxiety and fear, with the majority of patients and caregivers supporting and desiring animal-assisted activity in orthodontic settings.

Summary: In this study, a new orthodontic force measurement principle is proposed to accurately measure the forces exerted on the tooth by detecting the deformation of an elastic semi-sphere sensor. The feasibility of attaching the sensor to the orthodontic aligner or tooth surface is discussed. The experimental results show promising force detection performance, and future development of a directional force detection array using multiple semi-sphere sensors is recommended.

Summary: This article reviews the current trends in demographic process and healthcare needs to argue for a structural and organizational redesign of the dental care system. The use of teledentistry and its associated tools are discussed as effective means of providing oral health services to pediatric patients in remote areas or those unable to access traditional dental care. Further research is needed to explore the long-term effectiveness, additional applications, and cost-effectiveness of teledentistry in children.

Summary: This study compared traditional evaluation methods and digital scanned evaluation methods on students' cavity preparations and their perceptions. The results showed no significant difference between the two assessment methods in terms of scores, and most students agreed that digital technology helped them learn operative dentistry. However, they still preferred traditional assessment as the main self-evaluation system.

Summary: This study evaluated the complexity of root canal treatments accepted for treatment by postgraduate training grades at Cardiff University Dental Hospital using different scoring systems. The results showed that the complexity level varied when evaluated using different systems. Factors such as endodontic treatment history, post treatment disease, and quality of root filling contributed to the differences in scores among the systems.

Summary: This study investigated the accuracy of a buccal opening guide system. The results showed that open-sleeve sCAIS proved to be more accurate than free-hand surgery for both delayed and immediate implant placement. However, the closed-sleeve group showed fewer errors at healed sites, while the open-sleeve group exhibited fewer deviations in extraction sockets.
