Osteonecrosis is a disease with diverse pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and management. It may be associated with some medications used to treat systemic issues with bone metabolism. A few cases of jaw bone osteonecrosis have been associated with raloxifene. In this paper, the authors present a clinical report of a 64-year-old woman who presented with a necrosis foci in the right alveolar ridge of the mandible, associated with continued raloxifene use.

Summary: This study described the clinicopathological, molecular, and prognostic features of oral/oropharyngeal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and high-grade B-cell lymphoma with a focus on the low survival rate in patients affected by DLBCL in the oral/oropharyngeal region. The study also identified specific factors associated with lower survival rates in these patients, such as female sex, presence of pain and ulcer, microscopic starry sky pattern and necrosis, co-expression of c-Myc/Bcl2, and translocation of MYC.

Summary: Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a rare inherited disease caused by deficiencies in DNA damage repair, leading to the development of multiple malignancies. This report describes a case of a 20-year-old XP patient who developed squamous cell carcinoma in the lower lip with a mutation in the POLH gene. Molecular characterization is important for understanding phenotype-genotype correlations and mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of XP.

Summary: This study evaluated the epidemiological and clinical features, as well as the biological behavior, of hybrid odontogenic lesions. Calcifying odontogenic cyst associated with odontoma was found to be the most common type of hybrid odontogenic lesion. Females were more commonly affected, with treatment typically involving enucleation or surgical excision. Recurrence was rare, mostly associated with central odontogenic fibroma associated with central giant cell granuloma.
