Summary: The research shows that combining DOPO and PDA can significantly enhance the flame retardancy of epoxy resin and reduce the peak heat release rate. The volatilization of DOPO can quench free radicals and stop combustion. While increasing the amount of PDA/DOPO can raise the glass transition temperature, the aggregation of PDA in EP leads to decreased tensile properties of the composite material.

Summary: Surface modification of cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) was carried out to prepare flame retardant CNC@DPP@Zn, which was then added into epoxy resins (EP). The addition of CNC@DPP@Zn significantly reduced the peak heat release rate (pHRR) and total smoke production (TSP) of the composites.

Summary: A durable flame retardant fiber (VF/PR-DPCP) was successfully developed in this study by wet spinning through blending self-made flame retardant (PR-DPCP) and viscose slurry. The fiber exhibited high residual amount and flame retardancy at high temperatures, and its performance was almost unaffected after washing.

Summary: The flame retardancy of ABS was greatly enhanced by a highly efficient intumescent flame retardant coating, which improved the oxygen index value, UL-94 rating, and reduced the heat release rate. The flame retardant coating showed synergistic flame retardancy in both gas phase and condensed phase, while also protecting the intrinsic mechanical properties of ABS.

Summary: A novel P(AN-co-DMVP) copolymer with excellent thermal stability and flame retardance properties was successfully synthesized, showing a significant increase in oxygen index and a decrease in heat release with the addition of DMVP. The relationship between copolymer structures and flame-retardant performance was systematically investigated using various analytical methods, proposing a comprehensive flame-retardant mechanism involving DMVP in both the gaseous and condensed phases.

Summary: The study demonstrates a new strategy of using discarded MF foam as solid adsorbents to remove tin ions in wastewater, achieving a high removal rate of up to 99.996%. The products obtained after simple calcination can serve as high-efficiency flame retardants for PVC, significantly reducing heat release rate and smoke production. This approach effectively converts MF foam waste and tin-containing wastewater into valuable flame retardants, promoting environmentally friendly recycling and treatment.

Summary: This study found that photo-aging accelerates the deterioration of intumescent flame retarding coatings by affecting their flame retardancy, fire performance, smoke suppression, and surface yellowing; it also causes the formation of disordered and fluffy char during combustion. Additionally, photo-aging lowers the pyrolysis activation energy of the coatings, and the incorporation of materials such as silicon aerogel, beta-cyclodextrin, and nano-ZnO can improve the stability of the coatings to some extent.
