Summary: The study presents an advanced NP TEWMA Wilcoxon signed-rank based on RSS, referred to as TEWMA - SRRSS control chart, to detect shifts in the process location parameter. Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the performance of the proposed TEWMA - SRRSS control chart with other existing control charts. Findings indicate that the proposed TEWMA - SRRSS control chart is more effective in identifying shifts in the process location, especially for small shifts. A real-life application is also demonstrated for practical implementation of the TEWMA - SRRSS control chart.

Summary: This paper proposes that Chilean export wine producers achieved significant quality improvements from 1985 to 1999, leading to successful product differentiation in the global export market. As predicted by monopolistic competition theory, they also raised the prices of their wines, representing the value consumers attach to the wine attributes, including quality. The paper tests this hypothesis using the nonparametric Wilcoxon rank-sum test, and the results strongly support the hypothesis.

Summary: This article introduces the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test as commonly used methods for non-normally distributed data. For high-dimensional data, a new rank-based nonparametric test is proposed, and its advantages are demonstrated through simulation studies and practical data application.

Summary: A new distribution-free Phase II EWMA-type control chart based on the Wilcoxon signed rank statistic is introduced in this work, with its exact Run Length properties discussed. An algorithm for determining the optimal design of the chart has been developed, and the performance of the proposed chart is compared with existing nonparametric schemes from literature, showing its superiority. Two illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the practical implementation of the proposed chart.

Summary: Nonparametric control charts are introduced for situations where quality characteristics do not follow a specific distribution. Ranked-set sampling is preferred over simple random sampling, and a nonparametric homogeneously weighted moving average based on the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with ranked set sampling (NPHWMA(RSS)) control chart is proposed. Monte Carlo simulations are used to evaluate the performance of this chart, which outperforms other control charts. An example is provided to demonstrate the practical implementation of the proposed scheme.

Summary: The Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test is a powerful tool for testing the homogeneity of two random samples in the univariate case. However, it may lose power when there are scale differences. In this study, we generalize the test by using pairwise distances of observations, making it suitable for multivariate data and more robust to scale differences. The generalized test compares the difference between the distribution functions of the two samples and exhibits consistent and independent power with respect to the sample sizes.

Summary: This article introduces an optimization control algorithm based on the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model, aiming to improve the driving comfort level of fuzzy suspension systems. By designing a non-PDC fuzzy controller and an online optimization strategy, the values of the controller's membership functions can be updated in real-time to achieve better driving comfort.

Summary: Increased demand and declining quality of groundwater resources in metropolitan areas require long-term conservation. This study developed the spatial distribution of groundwater quality parameters in the Kabul basin and assessed their seasonal significance. Concentrations of magnesium, sodium, chloride, fluoride, iron, and manganese varied significantly between dry and wet seasons, with some exceeding the World Health Organization's recommendations. The variations in water quality metrics are influenced by recharge volume, hydraulic conductivity, and geological formation. The findings provide valuable insights for sustainable water resource management by local authorities.

Summary: This paper presents a discrete state nonparametric AEWMA chart based on the Wilcoxon signed-rank statistics. The chart takes into account the discrete nature of the statistics and the design of the chart structure. The statistical properties of the chart are accurately evaluated using a Markov chain approach. Simulation results show that the AEWMA signed-rank scheme performs well across various distributions and is effective in detecting both small and large shifts. A real data example is also provided to demonstrate the practical implications of the monitoring scheme.

Summary: In this study, the Wilcoxon rank sum test is used for operation state monitoring and automated fault detection of wind turbines. A five-step computation procedure is developed where statistical hypothesis tests are relied upon for fault detection. The method can monitor multiple key process parameters simultaneously and reliably detect anomalies or faults several days in advance.
