Summary: Tanshinone IIA has a strong anti-atherogenic function by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome, which plays a vital role in atherogenesis. The mechanism involves inhibiting NF-kappa B activation, downregulating pro-IL-1 beta and NLRP3 expression, and reducing oxLDL-induced cellular damage to prevent NLRP3 inflammasome assembly.

Summary: The study demonstrated that Tanshinone IIA (TIIA) improved cardiac dysfunction and fibrosis in heart failure (HF) by inhibiting oxidative stress. The reversal of abnormal expression levels of related indicators was observed in both HF rats and Angiotensin II-treated cardiac fibroblasts, with Nox4 playing a regulatory role in the inhibitory effects of TIIA on HF and cardiac fibrosis.

Summary: The study found that TSS exerts anti-inflammatory effects by upregulating circ-Sirt1 expression to inhibit the translocation of NF-kappa B. In vivo experiments confirmed the protective function of TSS on inflammation, suggesting that TSS may be a potential treatment for inflammation.

Summary: Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a common complication in diabetic patients leading to heart failure, primarily caused by endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) induced by abnormal glycolipid metabolism. Tanshinone II A (Tan IIA), the main active component of a Chinese medicine called Salviae miltiorrhizae radix et rhizome, has been found to have protective effects against cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This study aimed to investigate whether Tan IIA alleviates ERS-mediated DCM via SIRT1, and the results showed that Tan IIA improved the pathological changes in diabetic mice hearts and inhibited ERS-related protein and mRNA expression.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the potential anti-neuropathic pain effects of Tetrandrine (TET) and the involvement of Chemokine-like factor 1 (CKLF1) in the action of TET. The results showed that TET improved mechanical allodynia in mice with neuropathic pain by inhibiting CKLF1 and neuroinflammation.

Summary: This study discovered the expression of neuronal Hv1 in peripheral sensory neurons and found that its up-regulation is associated with aggravated inflammation and nociception. Inhibiting neuronal Hv1 can reduce inflammatory pain and morphine-induced hyperalgesia and tolerance.

Summary: In this study, it was found that with-Amateline (WMT), a steroidal lactone isolated from the datura innoxa plant, showed neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. WMT significantly reduced neuropathic pain behaviors and histopathological changes associated with streptozotocin-induced diabetic neuropathy. It also inhibited the activation of MAPK/NF-kappa B signaling pathway and reduced the production of inflammatory cytokines.
