Summary: This study investigated the effectiveness of a new formulation of diosmin in relieving symptoms and improving quality of life in patients with CVD. The results showed that the low-dose mu smin(R) Plus was safe and effective in reducing leg edema, pain, and clinical severity scores, leading to an overall improvement in quality of life for the subjects.

Summary: Chronic venous disease (CVD) is a multifactorial condition that affects a significant percentage of the global population, ranging from mild clinical signs to severe manifestations, with varicose veins being the most common form. Genetics and environmental factors play important roles in the development of CVD.

Summary: Brain function relies on a precise balance between metabolic demands, oxygen and nutrient delivery, and waste removal, which necessitates continuous regulation of cerebral blood flow. This regulation involves autoregulation, vascular reactivity to stimuli, neurovascular coupling, and endothelium-dependent responses. The focus of this review is primarily on autoregulation and its clinical implications.

Summary: Cutaneous microangiopathy is an important factor in the development of skin lesions caused by venous insufficiency. Capillaroscopy, a non-invasive technique, allows observation of superficial skin capillaries in patients with advanced venous disease. In this study, capillaroscopy was used to examine patients with C3-C5 chronic venous disorders, revealing significant changes in capillary density, size, and shape at the sites of venous skin lesions.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of active stretching (AS) training on lower limb venous function and quality of life in patients with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). The results show that AS training leads to a reduction in leg volume, an increase in ejection fraction rate, and improvements in postural outcomes. This suggests that an appropriate adapted physical exercise program could be beneficial in managing CVI patients.

Summary: The study found that chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is highly prevalent in the population and closely associated with cardiovascular risk factors and disease. Patients with CVI face an increased risk of death, independent of factors such as age, gender, and other cardiovascular risk factors.

Summary: Chronic venous disease is a medical condition characterized by various disorders in the venous system, with varicose veins being a common manifestation. Previous studies have identified structural and functional changes in the venous wall, and metabolic alterations appear to play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of the disease. This study found increased expression of specific genes and proteins related to glycolysis in patients with chronic venous disease, suggesting a metabolic shift in the venous tissue.

Summary: Chronic Venous Disease (CVD) is a complex and multifactorial condition involving genetic, proteomic, and cellular mechanisms that result in structural and functional changes to the veins of lower limbs. The expression of certain genes and alterations in the extracellular matrix play a role in the susceptibility to CVD. This article provides an up-to-date overview of the molecular determinants of CVD, including genetic and hormonal influences, ECM imbalance, histopathology, and the role of endothelial dysfunction.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which fatty liver disease arises from concomitant obesity and overconsumption of alcohol. It was found that the combination of high-fructose, high-fat, high-cholesterol diet with ethanol intake resulted in more weight gain, glucose intolerance, and steatosis compared to either factor alone. The study suggests that the combination of an obesogenic diet with a chronic-binge pattern alcohol intake is worse than either insult alone.
