Summary: This study introduced the concept of the existence state of asphaltenes to investigate the precipitation and aggregation characteristics of asphaltenes. The influence of the existence state of asphaltenes on wax deposition was studied, and it was found that the dispersed asphaltenes promote wax deposition, while the aggregated asphaltenes can inhibit it. The findings of this study contribute to a better understanding of the interaction between asphaltenes and wax in wax deposition.

Summary: The thermal treatment of oil sand bitumen froth aims to improve the separation process and upgrade the bitumen. The current study investigated the effects of mineral solids and water on visbreaking at 400°C. It was found that the presence of mineral solids and water consistently yielded bitumen products with higher viscosity and density. The presence of hydrocarbon solvents also influenced the product characteristics.

Summary: The study found that introducing asphaltene fillers into epoxy resin affects the material properties, such as increasing viscosity, enhancing Young's modulus, and storage modulus. With an increase in asphaltene content, aggregation and network structures appear in the microstructure, while there is minimal impact on glass transition temperature, damping properties, and thermal stability.

Summary: This study compares the effects of asphaltene stability from two different crude oil samples on water-model oil interfacial tension and emulsion stability. The size of molecules in the feedstock has a predominant effect on reducing interfacial tension, while larger molecules are responsible for emulsion stability.

Summary: In this study, aggregation behavior in a system of spherical primary particles in a liquid solvent was analyzed. It was found that systems with neighbor-dependent interactions formed stable fractal structures, showing different behavior compared to systems with reversible pairwise potentials.

Summary: This paper investigates the influence of asphaltene's structural parameters, including aromatic sheet diameter and aromaticity, on its solubility. The results show that aromatic sheet diameter increases with aromaticity and is inversely proportional to hydrogen bonding capability. In terms of dispersant polarity, 7C-7C interactions dominate and contribute to better asphaltene stability, while nonpolar precipitants exhibit the opposite trend. The study suggests the use of polar inhibitors to inhibit the aggregation of asphaltene with large aromatic sheet diameter.

Summary: Various methods were used to evaluate the stabilities of different heavy oil feedstocks. The study found a correlation between the properties of the feedstocks and the reaction performance in the upgrading process. Feedstocks with higher MCR contents had a higher tendency for coke formation and lower yield of DAO. Stable feedstocks produced less coke, greater DAO yields, and lower amounts of impurities compared to unstable feedstocks. Improving the stabilities of asphaltenes by solvency effect is crucial for obtaining high-quality products.

Summary: The goal of this study is to investigate the destabilization mechanism of emulsion in the presence of brine. The experimental results reveal that the presence of salts reduces the negative charges on the oil droplet surface, weakening the electrostatic repulsion between droplets, and promoting flocculation and coalescence.

Summary: This study evaluated the morphology of asphaltene deposits and the mechanisms of precipitation through AFM imaging and T/BS analysis. It was found that increasing the carbon number shifted the precipitation detection time and influenced the density of the precipitated material, and chemical additives affected asphaltene stability and morphology.

Summary: In this work, molecular dynamics simulations were used to investigate the simultaneity of asphaltene aggregation/adsorption and water-in-oil droplet coalescence. The effects of water and asphaltene on each other were extensively discussed. It was found that increasing water droplet sizes led to a nonmonotonic trend in the stacking of polyaromatic cores of asphaltene molecules. The study provides insights into the collective behaviors in multiphase systems and the developed method can be applied to other emulsion formation applications.

Summary: The research established a molecular dynamics model to characterize the deposition and wall sticking behavior of waxy crude oil pipeline transportation, with the proposed equal density interpolation fitting method for determining wall contact angle. The study verified the model's accuracy and reliability by comparing simulation results to experimental data, and investigated the micro influence mechanism of surface free energy on adhesion behavior and the selective deposition process of waxy crude oil on the sedimentary layer.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of molecular adsorption on the surface of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles on the enhancement of field-induced agglomeration and magnetic separation. Experimental results demonstrate that with an increasing amount of adsorbed molecules, the size of the agglomerates and efficiency of magnetic separation also increase.

Summary: Research shows that glycosyl donor activation reactions at different temperatures exhibit diversity, and can avoid deleterious side reactions and reduce the amount of building blocks required by using an activation temperature. This finding contributes to optimizing the usage of glycosyl donors and improving the efficiency of oligosaccharide synthesis.

Summary: DBSA was found to be the most effective inhibitor in reducing asphaltene aggregates size at different temperatures, while SA increased aggregate size at high temperatures. The collision efficiency was influenced by both efficient inhibitors and temperature reduction, with a size-dependent collision efficiency halving the model error on average compared to a size-independent one.
