Summary: COVID-19 is an emerging infectious disease caused by the widespread transmission of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The virus can be spread via aerosols in the oral cavity, posing risks in dental health care where additional infection control measures are strongly recommended. Care providers should carefully consider necessary infection control measures when attending to patients in both current and future situations.

Summary: Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are common and serious health problems in hospitals and ambulatory settings. Radiology departments globally have seen an increasing risk of HAIs due to their central role in guiding clinical decisions and the growing use of imaging techniques. Radiology departments are particularly vulnerable to HAIs due to their role as a transit hub for infected and non-infected patients and healthcare workers. The invasive nature of interventional radiology procedures also presents a greater risk of HAIs.

Summary: This study surveyed 244 corresponding authors who had published in general radiology journals to map their experiences and views on the peer review process. The results showed that most respondents considered the topic and availability of time very important when considering a peer review invitation. They also placed importance on the quality of the abstract, the prestige/impact factor of the journal, and the sense of professional duty. However, they were indifferent about receiving a reward for peer reviewing. A majority believed that reviewers should be rewarded, with financial compensation and discounted fees for society memberships being the most desired rewards.
