Summary: Thyroid cancer is the most common malignancy of the endocrine system, with recent research suggesting a significant role of non-coding RNAs in its progression, particularly in the competitive endogenous RNA networks. Understanding these mechanisms could lead to early diagnosis of thyroid cancer patients and the discovery of effective therapeutic targets.

Summary: This study aimed to develop potential biomarkers for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by sequencing small non-coding RNA (sncRNA) in circulating exosomes. The expression levels of hsa-miR-335-5p and hsa-miR-486-5p were found to be higher in RA patients compared to healthy controls, while the expression of the SRSF4 gene was decreased. These findings suggest that circulating exosomal miRNAs and SRSF4 could serve as valuable biomarkers for RA.

Summary: This study identified differentially expressed lncRNAs and genes in Kawasaki disease (KD), as well as constructed ceRNA networks involving miRNAs and mRNAs. The study found specific lncRNAs (PSORS1C3, LINC00999, SNHG5) and genes (GATA3, SOD2, MAPK14, PPARG) that may play a key role in the pathogenesis and development of KD. Validation in a separate dataset showed that intravenous immunoglobulin treatment alleviated the deregulated RNA profiles in KD patients.

Summary: The study found that SNHG7 expression was upregulated in glioma tissues and cell lines, while miR-138-5p expression was downregulated, and the knockdown of SNHG7 expression decreased glioma cell proliferation. Mechanistic studies revealed that SNHG7 downregulated miR-138-5p expression, affecting the expression levels of its target gene EZH2.

Summary: This study focused on the potential molecular mechanism of competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) composed of long non coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) related to endometriosis. Through high-throughput sequencing, the expression profile of lncRNA, circRNA, and mRNA in different endometrial tissues was analyzed, revealing differential expression in endometriosis. The study also identified key pathways and constructed networks that contributed to a better understanding of the pathogenesis of endometriosis and new target identification.

Summary: This study aimed to clarify the molecular regulatory mechanisms involved in T-cells responses in MS by exploring the lncRNA-associated ceRNA axes. The research identified a ceRNA regulatory relationship among SNHG1, hsa-miR-197-3p, YOD1, ZNF101 and downstream connected genes, potentially playing a role in the pathogenesis of MS. Pathway enrichment analysis showed that differentially expressed mRNAs were enriched in Protein processing in endoplasmic reticulum and Herpes simplex virus 1 infection pathways.

Summary: MicroRNAs are a family of small non-coding RNAs that can silence genes post-transcriptionally. miR-149-5p, a conserved miRNA, regulates physiological processes and has been implicated in solid tumors, acting as either an oncogene or tumor suppressor. Understanding the molecular mechanisms and roles of miR-149-5p in cancer initiation and progression is crucial for potential therapeutic interventions.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs approximately 22 nucleotides in length, and dysregulation of miRNAs has been extensively studied in tumorigenesis, providing biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. The miR-574-5p, located on human chromosome 4p14, is highly correlated with a high incidence of human cancers. This review systematically summarizes the regulatory role of miR-574-5p in tumorigenesis and progression, discusses its clinical applications as a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker, and explores its potential as a therapeutic target.

Summary: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is associated with high morbidity rates. This study identified that the lncRNA AC012668 was significantly suppressed in NAFLD models and its overexpression could inhibit lipogenesis-related gene expression and lipid accumulation. Additionally, miR-380-5p was found to target AC012668 and LRP2, playing a role in NAFLD progression. These findings suggest a potential novel strategy for combating NAFLD.
