This study presents a new evaluation method of static friction using a sinusoidal motion evaluation system in which the friction probe moves regularly under sinusoidal motion on polytetra-fluoroethylene surface. The dependence of the static frictional force on the normal force is consistent with the classical power law model. Additionally, the friction energy during the pre-sliding process from the friction profile is estimated.
