Summary: The worsening of neurological status shortly after acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a serious problem, and inflammation plays a key role in stroke pathology. A study found that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) at admission in AIS patients undergoing endovascular treatment (EVT) is associated with early neurological deterioration (END). Higher NLR values predicted a higher risk of END.

Summary: This study demonstrated for the first time that a high NLR-low LMR combination observed at 24 hours after thrombolysis can serve as an independent predictor of poor 3-months outcome in acute ischemic stroke patients. This simple and readily available data may help clinicians to improve the prognostic estimation of patients and may provide guidance in selecting patients for personalized and intensified care post-thrombolysis.

Summary: This study found that platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were independently associated with unfavorable functional outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after successful recanalization.

Summary: The study indicated that both neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) were associated with the reperfusion status in patients with acute ischemic stroke treated with endovascular treatment. Higher NLR and PLR values were linked to unsuccessful reperfusion after EVT, suggesting their potential utility in predicting outcomes.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of APOE alleles on the functional outcome in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. It also explores the relationship between inflammation and stroke-related disability based on APOE genotypes. The results indicate that APOE e4 carriers have a worse functional outcome after AIS compared to non-e4 carriers. Additionally, the study finds that the APOE genotype may modify the relationship between neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and 3-month stroke outcome.

Summary: The objective of this research was to examine the correlation between the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and stroke progression (SP) as well as the functional outcome following an ischemic stroke (IS). The results showed that NLR was independently associated with SP and poor functional outcomes. NLR may be a valuable prognostic indicator in clinical practice.

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between routine inflammatory markers and clinical outcomes in acute basilar artery occlusion patients receiving endovascular treatment. The results showed that higher white blood cell count and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio on admission were significantly associated with unfavorable functional outcome and mortality at 90 days.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether the baseline neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) predicts symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (SICH) due to intravenous thrombolytic therapy. However, the results showed that NLR did not provide strong specificity and sensitivity for predicting SICH, and a precise cut-off value could not be found to predict hemorrhagic transformation.

Summary: This study found that systemic inflammation markers are closely related to clinical activity, respiratory failure, and prognosis in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG). PLR may be an independent predictor of respiratory failure, and high SII and GMG are predictive risk factors for poor outcomes in MG patients.

Summary: The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) have been found to be important predictors of post-endovascular treatment (EVT) outcomes in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO). Low NLR and PLR values are associated with favorable post-EVT outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of in-hospital workflow on functional outcomes after thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke patients. The findings suggest that a neurologist-dominant model may reduce in-hospital delay and the risk of asymptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage, but may not significantly influence functional outcomes in these patients.
