Summary: CDK4/6 inhibitors combined with endocrine therapy are the standard treatment for breast cancer. However, CDKs have potential roles beyond cell cycle regulation. Dinaciclib, a CDK inhibitor, inhibits breast cancer stemness and shows potential for future cancer treatment.

Summary: This study demonstrates that GTSE1 is significantly upregulated in prostate cancer and negatively correlates with patient prognosis. GTSE1 promotes prostate cancer cell proliferation through the SP1/FOXM1 signaling pathway, suggesting its potential as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target in prostate cancer.

Summary: Research has found that DON can induce apoptosis in intestinal epithelial cells through the FOXO3a-signaling pathway, leading to the translocation of FOXO3a into the nucleus. Inhibiting FOXO3a can alleviate apoptosis and the expression of apoptosis-related genes. Additionally, treatment with an ERK1/2 inhibitor can suppress the translocation of FOXO3a into the nucleus.

Summary: The study investigated the molecular mechanisms by which let-7b regulates placental trophoblast functions and examined its expression in pre-eclampsia. Overexpression of let-7b in trophoblasts promoted cell proliferation and invasion, suppressed apoptosis and autophagy, and modulated inflammatory cytokine expression. The beneficial effects of let-7b were mediated through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway, suggesting let-7b as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of pre-eclampsia.

Summary: This study investigated the role of histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) in trophoblast invasion and migration and found that downregulation of HDAC4 impairs trophoblast proliferation, invasion, and migration, while overexpression of HDAC4 plays the opposite role. The results suggest that HDAC4 may be a promising target for the treatment of pre-eclampsia.

Summary: Pre-eclampsia is a complex pregnancy-specific disease that is the primary cause of maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. The underlying causes of pre-eclampsia remain unclear but involve an imbalance of molecular pathways regulating trophoblast function. Abnormal expression of certain microRNAs is associated with pre-eclampsia, with these microRNAs playing a role in regulating pregnancy-associated genes. This review discusses the role of microRNAs in trophoblast function, their impact on the pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia, and their potential use in screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Summary: This study found that TGF-beta 1 can upregulate the expression of kisspeptin in human EVT cells through the ALK5 receptor. TGF-beta 1 activates both the SMAD2/3 and the ERK1/2 and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, with inhibition of ERK1/2 attenuating the stimulatory effect of TGF-beta 1 on kisspeptin expression. Knockdown of kisspeptin attenuates the inhibitory effect of TGF-beta 1 on EVT cell invasion. Serum levels of TGF-beta 1 and kisspeptin are also significantly elevated in patients with PE.

Summary: Proteoglycan macromolecules, specifically syndecan-1, play crucial roles in various physiological processes during placenta development and healthy pregnancy. Dysregulated expression of proteoglycans, including syndecan-1, has been observed in pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia and fetal growth restriction. Further research is needed to explore the potential diagnostic and therapeutic applications of proteoglycans in complicated pregnancies.

Summary: The study found that COL4A1 is highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and cells. Silencing COL4A1 can inhibit the proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of gastric cancer cells. COL4A1 inhibits the aggressiveness of gastric cancer cells by blocking the Hedgehog signaling pathway.
