Summary: Resistance to change and organizational culture are important factors to consider in change management in healthcare settings. In this study, implementing a person-centred pain management program in an orthopaedic spine surgery unit led to a decrease in resistance to change and a shift in organizational culture towards more team-oriented and participation-focused preferences among staff. The discrepancy between current and preferred cultures highlights the need for combining structural changes with relational aspects of change in complex healthcare environments.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of a person-centred and health-promoting intervention on older home care recipients and care staff. The intervention was found to contribute to maintaining high levels of thriving among older adults compared to the control group, but also led to an increase in negative emotions. No significant effects were found among care staff. Further exploration is warranted to understand the findings, and the challenges discussed in the study may be important for future research in the context of HCS.

Summary: This study explored the care processes that best exemplify person-centred care during physical activity for long-term care residents with dementia. The findings identified actions that reflect person-centred care during physical activity, as well as benefits and barriers to enacting person-centred care in this context. Understanding these processes can have implications for education and training in LTC settings.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a kidney-specific program theory about the use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in nephrology to enhance person-centered care, and to test and refine this theory through a systematic review of empirical literature. The study found that PROs have three types of application in providing nephrology care and highlighted the need for further empirical research to improve the evidence-base of PRO use at individual and aggregated levels of care in nephrology.
