Summary: This study investigates the potential triggers for eating disorders, specifically anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN). Using real-world data from the WHO safety database, the study finds a correlation between certain drugs such as isotretinoin, lamivudine, nevirapine, and zidovudine, and the development or relapse of AN and BN. It suggests that mental health conditions should be assessed before treatment initiation to identify patients at risk.

Summary: In this issue of International Journal of Eating Disorders, Walsh et al. review the research comparing atypical anorexia nervosa (atypical AN) and AN. Most differences observed were related to weight, while psychopathology and complications were similar. The findings suggest that atypical AN and AN are not fundamentally different, emphasizing the need for further research. The high prevalence of atypical AN in clinical settings highlights the importance of continuing research.

Summary: This study evaluated the plasma levels of APE-13 and ASP, as well as related metabolic and psychometric parameters, in patients with anorexia nervosa. The findings suggest that APE-13 and ASP may serve as biomarkers for anorexia nervosa, and their levels are associated with eating behavior, emotional behavior, and the severity of psychopathological symptoms of eating disorders.

Summary: This paper investigates the quantitative model of brand recognition based on sentiment analysis of big data using laptops as an example. Through web crawler technology, the most authentic information about different laptop brands is collected from first-line consumers on major e-commerce platforms. The study analyzes consumers' sentiment and recognition of product brands by analyzing review time, text reviews, satisfaction ratings, and relevant user information. The results show that the quantitative model can transform keywords in text into word vectors in high-dimensional semantic space through unsupervised machine learning, and accumulate values in each dimension of brand recognition to obtain the overall value of each brand recognition.

Summary: This review examines the relationship between weight and medical instability in adolescents with typical and atypical anorexia nervosa. It found that medical instability can occur across a range of weights, with weight loss being associated with increased medical risk. Underweight adolescents were more likely to experience lower blood pressure and bradycardia, while adolescents with a body mass index below 70% were more likely to have hypophosphatemia. Rapid weight loss was identified as an important indicator of increasing medical risk. However, more research is needed in this area.

Summary: A young woman presented with significant weight loss and malnutrition due to decreased food intake, initially diagnosed with ARFID but later found to have a suprasellar and pineal germinoma. While there have been cases of germinomas misdiagnosed as anorexia nervosa, this is the first reported case of a multifocal germinoma presenting as ARFID. The criteria for diagnosing ARFID do not include body image distortion, potentially leading to misdiagnosis.

Summary: Eating disorders, specifically anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN), have shown increasing trends in incidence and burden from 1990 to 2019 in China. The prevalence of AN peaked at 15-19 years old, while the prevalence and DALYs of BN peaked at 30-34 years old. Females had a higher burden of AN, while males had a higher burden of BN.

Summary: In this meta-analysis of 35 papers, we found that receiving a higher level of care, having psychiatric comorbidity, and higher severity of ED psychopathology were associated with a higher likelihood of relapse in eating disorders. Conversely, higher leptin levels, higher meal energy density/variety, higher motivation for change, higher body mass index/weight/body fat, better response to treatment, anorexia nervosa-restricting subtype diagnosis, and older age of ED onset were associated with a lower likelihood of relapse. Various moderators were also identified.

Summary: The study of public attitude towards the Shanghai epidemic is of great importance for maintaining mental health and a positive outlook. This study utilized crawler technology to obtain Weibo data related to the epidemic in Shanghai and classified attitudes using sentiment dictionaries. The results showed that the overall attitude of the public in Shanghai is positive, although there were fluctuations in the early stages of the epidemic. Public concerns primarily focused on the supply of goods and virus testing. Public attitudes in areas close to the epicenter were relatively more negative.

Summary: Several studies have found that individuals with anorexia nervosa show significant underperformance in overall neuropsychological functioning, especially in executive function, memory, and visuospatial abilities. Factors like age and BMI also have significant moderator effects on these impairments. This comprehensive review highlights the potential neuropsychological dysfunction in adult patients diagnosed with AN.

Summary: Research has shown that individuals with anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN) differ in their use of emotion regulation strategies, with AN patients tending to use fewer adaptive strategies. Therefore, improving the use of adaptive strategies should be a focus in the treatment of individuals with AN.

Summary: A real-time methodology was proposed to find spatial-temporal correspondence between target point positions in the pre-treatment 3DCT image and during the procedure by minimizing target registration error in III tier registration circuits. Particle Swarm Optimization and Differential Evolution were used to optimize Elastic Body Spline parameters for abdominal deformation field generation. Different transformation classes were tested, with the lowest Target Registration Error obtained for the swarm optimization algorithm differential evolution in the rigid and affine versions at 3.47mm and 3.73mm, respectively.

Summary: This study aims to address the challenge of psychiatry-computer aided diagnosis and therapy of anorexia nervosa by presenting a method to determine the intensity of five emotions in medical notes. The method was tested on patients with anorexia nervosa and a control group, resulting in two emotional profiles. The study found differences in emotional intensities between healthy individuals and those with anorexia nervosa, which can be useful in therapy monitoring and initial diagnosis.

Summary: This study explores the use of computer-aided diagnosis and therapy for anorexia nervosa and demonstrates how natural language processing methods can enhance the work of psychologists. The efficacy of this method was evaluated by analyzing patients' emotions, body perception, and areas of difficulty in psychological diagnosis using natural language processing and machine learning techniques. The results show that this tool can reduce patient resistance, provide better support in diagnosis, and improve understanding of the patient's psychopathology.

Summary: This article presents a real-time method for estimating the displacement of the target point due to respiratory movements during minimally invasive procedures. The method uses skin markers and non-rigid registration algorithms, and has been validated using clinical data. The method allows for real-time positioning of the target and estimation of the target position error. In addition, directions for further research and the possibility of combining other methods are discussed.

Summary: The authors aimed to research the method of presenting visual information to blind individuals through tactile and audio form, and to provide contextual information to reduce cognitive barriers. Results showed that recognizing the shapes of image elements for blind people depended on the quality of the tactile pictures. By increasing the proportions and measures of geometric figures, perception can be improved. Additionally, dividing audio descriptions into different options allows users to choose the amount of contextual information they need.
