Summary: This review identified a higher prevalence of allergic diseases, such as allergic rhinitis and urticaria, in children with Kawasaki disease. Intravenous immunoglobulin therapy can reduce allergic symptoms in these patients. Long-term care for Kawasaki disease patients should focus on the management of allergic diseases.

Summary: The prevalence of asthma and allergies among children and adolescents has been increasing in the past few decades. A study analyzing data from 2014 to 2018 found that over 40% of respondents reported allergic symptoms, with nearly 50% of them not diagnosed or treated. However, there has been a reduction in the frequency of asthma and allergic rhinitis cases, indicating a positive effect on preventive measures taken in Krakow since 2010.

Summary: This study examines the association between the allergic triad (asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis) and the risk of dementia. The results indicate that allergic diseases are positively associated with dementia risk, and the severity of allergic diseases has a dose-effect relationship with dementia risk.

Summary: Asthma and allergic skin diseases were the most common ADs in outpatient and emergency departments during the study period. Respiratory tract infection was the most common comorbidity of asthma in children. More attention should be paid to the treatment of comorbidities to improve childhood AD outcomes.

Summary: In a retrospective cohort study, researchers found a significant increase in the use of intrapartum antibiotics among women over a 20-year period, while the incidence of asthma and allergic rhinitis remained relatively stable. Adjusted models showed that the association between intrapartum antibiotics and asthma/allergic rhinitis risk was largely inconclusive, with only slightly elevated risk ratios observed.

Summary: Allergic rhinitis is a globally important disease that affects children and adults, causing significant social and economic effects. It is characterized by identifiable symptoms and accompanying indicators. Diagnosis relies on clinical indicators, historical records, and risk factors, supported by abnormal laboratory findings. Treatment includes allergen exposure prevention, drug therapy, and immunotherapy.

Summary: The pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis is closely associated with genetic, environmental, and epigenetic factors. Genotyping of single nucleotide polymorphisms is an advanced technique in molecular genetics that is related to genome-wide association studies. Recent studies have focused on the impact of epigenetic factors such as DNA methylation, histone acetylation, and miRNA levels in the development of allergic rhinitis.

Summary: Allergic diseases have affected a significant portion of the Chinese population, but our understanding of the full spectrum of these diseases remains limited. This report presents data from Yichang City, showing a high number of outpatient visits for skin and mucous membrane allergies (77.90%) and allergic respiratory conditions (19.64%) between 2018 and 2021. In 2021, there was an increase in outpatient visits for conditions such as allergic rhinitis, acute atopic conjunctivitis, and atopic dermatitis. Demographic analysis revealed a higher prevalence of males under 18 years old and females between 18 and 65 years old.

Summary: Allergic rhinitis (AR) and Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) are common medical conditions that can overlap, especially in individuals with asthma. The presence of asthma is associated with higher likelihoods of developing AR and LPR, which can significantly impact quality of life. More research is needed to better understand the relationships between these conditions.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the within-day variation and carcinogenic health risks of trihalomethanes (THMs) in indoor swimming pools in Taiyuan, China, and examine their correlations with environmental parameters. The results showed that the concentration of THMs and the carcinogenic health risks varied over time in the pool, with the highest level occurring at the pool's opening time.

Summary: Eosinophilic oesophagitis is a chronic allergic disease characterized by T-lymphocyte response inducing esophageal eosinophilic infiltration. Inflammation and tissue fibrosis lead to main symptoms like food impaction and dysphagia. The etiopathogenesis involves genetic and environmental factors, with non-IgE-mediated food allergies being a common trigger.

Summary: Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is an autosomal dominant disease caused by a mutation in the APC gene. It leads to the development of colorectal adenomas and upper GI lesions. Advances in endoscopic techniques have made it possible to treat upper GI polyps and ampullary tumors effectively.
