Summary: Paraneoplastic leukemoid reaction (PLR) is a rare phenomenon associated with poor prognosis and rapid disease progression in metastasized melanoma. This study analyzed the cytokine concentrations in patients' serum samples during PLR and performed immunohistochemical staining on tumor tissue. The results showed a correlation between tumor burden and neutrophilia, as well as an increase in proinflammatory cytokines, proangiogenic cytokines, and immune stem cell growth factors during PLR. These findings provide a basis for further functional analysis and targeted therapeutic approaches against PLR.

Summary: Paraneoplastic leukemoid reaction (PLR), typically associated with carcinoma, has a poor prognosis with an inverse relationship between white blood cell count and survival. Pathologists should pay attention to white blood cell count and consider the possibility of PLR in malignant neoplasms with prominent neutrophilic stroma.

Summary: Paraneoplastic syndromes are rarely seen in gynecological tumors, especially in endometrial cancer. Early identification and treatment play a significant role in improving the prognosis. This case report highlights the importance of recognizing leukemoid reaction and hypercalcemia as paraneoplastic syndromes in endometrial cancer patients.

Summary: This case report describes an unusual paraneoplastic leukemoid response in a rare instance of gallbladder adenosquamous carcinoma. The patient presented with abdominal pain and elevated white cell count, leading to cholecystectomy where the carcinoma was identified. The leukocytosis persisted even after surgery, but unfortunately, the patient passed away before any treatment could be initiated.

Summary: This case report presents a patient with squamous cell carcinoma who exhibited a significant increase in neutrophils and mild dysmyelopoeisis. After ruling out other potential causes, researchers hypothesized a paraneoplastic leukemoid reaction as the cause of this phenomenon, highlighting the substantial increase in neutrophils that can occur in such reactions.

Summary: A 16-year-old castrated male domestic shorthair cat presented with polyuria, polydipsia, and weight loss, which was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor suspected to be exocrine pancreatic carcinoma. Treatment with SBRT initially showed partial response but later revealed tumor progression and metastasis, leading to a change in cytologic diagnosis and initiation of carboplatin treatment. The cat eventually had to be euthanized due to weakness. Further research is necessary to determine optimal fractionation schedules for SBRT in pancreatic tumors and its effectiveness in treating exocrine pancreatic carcinoma in cats.

Summary: This case report highlights an isolated case of anti-SOX1 antibodies associated with a rare paraneoplastic peripheral neuropathy in a male breast cancer patient. The patient responded well to treatment with IVIg, but experienced relapse of neuropathy with tumor recurrence, indicating a potential link between SOX1 antibodies and paraneoplastic syndrome in male breast carcinoma.

Summary: Paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes (PNS) are rare but important to recognize, as they can precede the detection of an occult malignancy. It is crucial to consider PNS even in antibody negative cases, and to thoroughly investigate other possible etiologies.

Summary: This article reports a case of autoimmune encephalitis caused by appendiceal goblet cell carcinoma. The patient presented with symptoms such as disturbance of consciousness, psychiatric symptoms, cognitive impairment, seizure, and hypotension. Treatment resulted in symptom resolution but recurrence occurred later. Histopathological examination revealed amphiphysin protein expression and immune cell infiltration, suggesting a possible association between amphiphysin-IgG autoimmune encephalitis and appendiceal goblet cell carcinoma.

Summary: Approximately 20% of renal cell carcinoma cases are diagnosed due to paraneoplastic manifestations. This case demonstrates that effective sustained treatment for PNS vasculitis caused by oligometastatic RCC is possible with SBRT.

Summary: This case report presents a 60-year-old woman with paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) and anti-Yo antibodies associated with a submandibular gland tumor. Despite various treatments including methylprednisolone, plasma exchange, immunoglobulins, and cyclophosphamide therapy, the patient's symptoms did not improve.
