Summary: The structure and properties of a Zn-1%Mg-0.1%Dy alloy after ECAP were investigated. The refinement of the structure led to the formation of elongated grains and the presence of Mg- and Dy-containing phases. The alloy exhibited increased tensile strength and ductility after ECAP. The degradation of the alloy was slowed down and its biocompatibility was not impaired.

Summary: The ability to modify microstructural features and properties make red gold an attractive choice for applications in electronics, dental devices, and jewelry. This study investigates the effect of severe plastic deformation by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) on microstructural evolution in an 18-carat AuCuAg alloy and the ordering kinetics during subsequent aging. The results demonstrate the potential of ECAP combined with heat treatments for microstructural optimization of AuCuAg alloys and their applications.

Summary: In this study, the effects of homogenization heat treatment and equal channel angular pressing process (ECAP) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Zn-22Al alloy were investigated. Homogenization resulted in a transformation from a lamellar structure to equiaxed grains. Homogenization also led to the formation of a homogeneous structure and a decrease in microhardness. On the other hand, the ECAP process was effective in achieving an ultra-fine grained (UFG) and equiaxed microstructure, improving superplastic behavior and increasing failure elongation.

Summary: The microstructural characterization of the Ti-5.7Al-3.8Mo-1.2Zr-1.3Sn alloy after equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) showed that the spheroidization process was governed by the conventional boundary splitting mechanism, with a nearly-Burgers orientation relationship between the spheroidized a-and b phases. This suggests a high cooperation in slip activity between the phases.

Summary: Changes in the spatial distributions of platelet Al3Ti particles in an Al-Al3Ti alloy during equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) were investigated. The results showed that the processing routes A and B had different effects on the fragmentation and agglomeration of Al3Ti particles, as well as the gradual decrease in particle size with increasing ECAP passes. Route B resulted in a more homogeneous distribution of Al3Ti particles after 8 passes compared to route A.

Summary: The microstructure and texture of binary Mg-0.3Ce alloy were investigated after ECAP processing at 300 and 350 degrees C. Effective grain refinement was achieved through dynamic recrystallization, with different mechanisms observed at different temperatures. Texture development varied based on strain level and DRX mechanisms, forming a typical basal texture at 300 degrees C and a different texture at 350 degrees C due to grain size.

Summary: The microstructure of a commercial AZ91 Mg alloy was modified through ECAP and aging, resulting in improved corrosion resistance. Aging treatment at 150 degrees Celsius for 60-90 hours produced fine beta phase precipitates that enhanced the micro-galvanic effect, leading to increased corrosion rates still lower than that of the as-cast alloy.

Summary: The mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of WE43 magnesium alloy are improved by processing samples using ECAP up to four passes. Yield strength and uniaxial tensile strength continue to improve up to three passes, but deteriorate in the fourth pass. The improvement in properties is attributed to the pinning effect of the precipitated intermetallic secondary phase of beta particles, while the decline in properties is associated with morphology changes.

Summary: This study investigated the interactions between gut microbiome, metabolites, and microbial enzymes in early-onset colorectal cancer (EO-CRC) patients. The results showed distinct associations between microbiome and metabolome in EO-CRC compared to late-onset CRC (LO-CRC). The study identified potential biomarkers for EO-CRC and achieved a powerful classification performance for distinguishing EO-CRC from controls. This research provides valuable insights into the pathogenesis of EO-CRC and highlights the potential of microbiome-derived biomarkers for non-invasive detection.

Summary: With the rapid development of internet technologies and shared mobility services, online ridesharing services have become popular worldwide. This study compares the operational performance of two major online ridesharing modes, ridesplitting and carpooling, using actual operating data provided by DiDi Chuxing. The findings indicate that ridesplitting has lower fuel-saving and distance-saving ratios compared to carpooling, and online ridesharing is not considered fuel-saving in terms of transportation system's fuel economy.

Summary: A hydrophobic microscopic reaction environment was constructed through the modification of mesoporous silica, which helped improve the catalytic activity of the LPCE reaction. The Pt@SBA-15-tetramethyldisilazane catalyst, prepared by modifying the SBA-15 carrier and loading metal Pt, exhibited a superhydrophobic structure with a water contact angle of 158 degrees. This structure enhanced the catalytic performance and prevented catalyst deactivation. Experimental results showed that the catalyst had good catalytic activity in tritium water and maintained high activity after 30 days.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the feasibility of pancreatic imaging at 5 T and evaluate the practical improvement of T2-weighted MRI and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) at 5 T as compared with 3 T. The results showed that imaging at 5 T provided higher image quality ratings and SNR compared to 3 T for both T2-weighted and DWI images. However, there were no significant differences in the mean ADC values and CV of ADC between 3 T and 5 T measurements.

Summary: This paper investigates the problem of collision-free leader-follower formation generation and tracking of multiple fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A novel control law based on physicomimetics approach is proposed to integrate formation generation, formation tracking, and collision avoidance. The artificial forces driven by control laws imitating physical forces are used to achieve desired collaborative behaviors and obstacle avoidance naturally. Speed constraints are also considered and modified using a saturation function. Numerical simulations and experiments are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Summary: Designing efficient catalysts is a crucial challenge for practical applications of high-capacity hydride in fuel-cell-based hydrogen economy. In this study, platinum-functionalized Ti3C2 material with an accordion-like structure, interlayer, and surface-dispersed nanoparticles was synthesized. The catalyst, Ti3C2@Pt, reduced the initial dehydrogenation temperature of high-density hydride AlH3 by 50% to 62 °C, comparable to commercial AlH3. Moreover, it exhibited high hydrogen supplying performance and retention ratio, achieving 9.3 wt% and 98% respectively, surpassing previously reported catalysts. The exceptional dehydrogenation performance of the material makes it a practical candidate for mobile device applications with the aid of high-efficiency catalysts.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the unsatisfactory histologically complete resection (CR) rate of small rectal neuroendocrine tumors (RNETs) and its associated risk factors and clinical outcomes. The study found that polypectomy, a central depression, and treatment in the early period were risk factors for incomplete resection (IR). Further analysis revealed that an atypical hyperemic appearance and treatment in the early period were significant predisposing factors for inappropriate choice of polypectomy.
