Summary: The study aimed to compare the diagnostic performances of SE and SWE combined with conventional ultrasound in differentiating breast lesions. The results showed that conventional ultrasound had the best diagnostic performance. When combined with conventional ultrasound, SWE appeared to have better sensitivity and AUC compared to SE, but there was no statistically significant difference between them.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a simple ultrasound-based scoring system to reduce benign breast biopsies. The linear regression model using US+SWE parameters performed better than any single parameter alone. The developed scoring system could avoid biopsy in about 37.8% of benign lesions.

Summary: TVU shows sensitivity and specificity in myometrial infiltration and cervical invasion comparable to MRI, with lower costs, better patient tolerability, and no need for contrast agents. An expert operator should perform the ultrasound examination in suspected EC patients. Special attention should be paid to patients with concurrent uterine lesions such as leiomyomas, as they may affect the accuracy of the ultrasound diagnosis.

Summary: This study developed a post-processing technique based on deep convolutional neural networks (dCNNs) for detection and classification of lesions in automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) according to the BI-RADS atlas. The results showed that the dCNN achieved similar accuracy as experienced radiologists in detecting and distinguishing lesions in ABUS.

Summary: This study investigated the elasticity obtained by 2-D shear wave elastography (SWE) and its diagnostic value in evaluating tumor stromal fibrosis in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The results showed that 2-D SWE measurements in pancreatic lesions had a success rate of 89.9% and elasticity was well correlated with tumor stromal proportion and number of tumor cells in PDAC. 2-D SWE could clearly distinguish mild and severe stromal fibrosis and can be a non-invasive predictive imaging biomarker for personalized therapy and treatment monitoring.

Summary: The study evaluated the relationship between CEUS LI-RADS classification of cHCC-CCA and their histopathological component predominance, as well as the prediction of patient survival post-surgical resection. LR-5 category tended to represent HCC-predominant tumors with longer disease-free survival compared to LR-M and LR-TIV categories in cHCC-CCA patients.

Summary: The study evaluated the clinical and imaging findings as well as the pathological correlation of papillary breast neoplasm at a tertiary center. It found that common clinical presentations of these neoplasms included breast lump and nipple discharge, with specific sonographic features such as mass, irregular shape, and presence of vascularity being significantly associated with malignancy. The study highlighted the importance of feature pattern recognition on ultrasound and mammogram for optimal treatment and surgical care of patients with suspected ductal lesions.

Summary: The study investigated the performance and safety of sequential transbronchial cryobiopsy (TBC) using a novel 1.1-mm cryoprobe after conventional transbronchial biopsy (TBB) using radial probe endobronchial ultrasound (RP-EBUS). The combined diagnostic yield of TBB and TBC was 79.1%, which was higher than TBB alone (60.9%, p=0.005). TBC with the 1.1-mm cryoprobe significantly increased the tissue area compared to TBB with 1.5-mm and 1.9-mm forceps.

Summary: This study compared the reliability and performance of Supersonic shear wave elastography (S-SWE) and Toshiba shear wave elastography (T-SWE) in diagnosing biliary atresia (BA) and assessing liver fibrosis. The results showed that T-SWE had good performances in the diagnosis of BA and the assessment of liver fibrosis compared with S-SWE. Furthermore, T-SWE showed higher measurement reproducibility than S-SWE.

Summary: This study used ultrasound shear wave elastography imaging (US-SWEI) to evaluate the shear wave speed (SWS) in diaphragm muscles of healthy mice and dystrophic mouse models. The results showed a strong correlation between SWS and collagen deposition, as well as muscle fiber size. The study demonstrates the ability of US-SWEI to assess dystrophic diaphragm functionality over time and predict its biochemical and morphological composition. Evaluation: 8/10.

Summary: We developed a quantitative assessment model based on shear wave elastography (SWE), Angio Planewave Ultrasensitive imaging (Angio PLUS (AP)), and conventional ultrasound imaging to predict the malignancy of breast lesions. The model showed good discrimination between malignant and benign breast lesions and can be a potentially useful tool for individually-tailored diagnosis of breast tumors in clinical practice.
