Summary: Droplet-based microfluidics is advancing the development of miniaturized and sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). This article investigates the impact of surfactant structure on the efficiency and stability of the antibody grafting process on droplets. It demonstrates that short linkers lead to high functionalization efficiency, while long linkers enhance stability, with an intermediate size required to balance both parameters. The optimal structure is a PEG4 linker connecting a polar di-azide head and a per-fluoropolyether tail.

Summary: An electrochemical method for the azidocyanation of alkenes via 1,4-nitrile migration has been developed. The method is applicable to various alkene containing cyanohydrins and provides access to a broad range of synthetically useful 1,2-azidonitriles. The methodology has also been extended to alkene sulfonylcyanation and the synthesis of a trifunctionalized hexanenitrile.

Summary: A novel synthesis method of Functionalized Carbon Spheres coated with Graphene nanoplatelets using sonication technique was reported. The hybrid nanoparticles effectively improved the tribological characteristics of lubricating oils, showing a remarkable reduction in the Coefficient of Friction. The addition of hybrid nanoparticles led to excellent dispersion and stability without the use of surfactants.

Summary: In this study, glutathione-functionalized gold nanoparticles were azidated and covalently functionalized through a click reaction successfully coupling alkyne-functionalized dyes. The surface composition and successful azidation were confirmed by NMR and UV/vis spectroscopy. The dye-clicked nanoparticles exhibited high fluorescence, high yield, and applicability for metallic nanoparticles.

Summary: The study demonstrates the synthesis and characterization of two ferrocene-based functional molecules with two active thiol/thiolacetate anchoring groups for self-assembly between two different electrodes. The orientation of the molecules at the bottom electrode surface is controlled using CuAAC (click chemistry) on ultra-smooth template stripped gold substrates, enabling high quality self-assembly of SAMs.

Summary: This study investigates the thermo-physical and tribological properties of acidic functionalized graphene dispersed viscosity grade-68 (VG-68) hydraulic oil nanolubricant and its potential for reducing friction in a mechanical system. The nanolubricant shows high dispersion stability with a zeta potential value of -48 mV at pH 7. The thermal conductivity and viscosity index of the nanolubricant increase with an increase in nanoparticle concentration. The nanolubricant (0.4 wt%) reduces the frictional coefficient by a maximum of 21.8% compared to pure hydraulic oil and decreases the wear rate by a maximum of 35.51%.

Summary: This study investigates the specificity of interactions between BMP-2 and integrin selective ligands using surface nanopatterning, revealing that immobilized BMP-2 enhances cell adhesion and focal adhesion assembly, and induces the recruitment of different integrins in FAs. The dual-functionalized platforms offer the potential to study crosstalk between integrins and BMP receptors.
