Summary: Colorectal cancer is a common cancer worldwide, with slow progression and higher risk as age increases, recommended screening starting at age 50. Incidence is mainly in developed countries but rapidly increasing in developing regions, early detection is crucial. Colonoscopy is the preferred screening method, but limited by practical factors like cost and facilities.

Summary: Two molecular cytology approaches, TGiA and RiA, have been developed to detect prostate cancer cells. TGiA-OSAM showed single-cell PCa detection sensitivity, while RiA had a lower limit of detection. Both assays detected low abundance PCa cells in patient urine and showed correlation with clinical data.

Summary: This study investigated the potential of machine learning to identify patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Raman spectroscopy data collected in vivo with 2 labels was used for experiments. Multivariate techniques, including PCA combined with SVM and a customized ANN, were utilized to develop efficient diagnostic algorithms. The results showed that the classification of diabetic patients using ANN achieved the best performance with 93.8% accuracy and a ROC-AUC score of 0.96 on a public dataset. Overall, the combination of Raman spectroscopy with ANN offers significant precision benefits and is indicated as a potential non-invasive tool for diagnosing diabetes in vivo.

Summary: In this study, a spectroscopic method based on SLIPSERS was developed for rapid identification of lung cancer. By using SLIPSERS, vibrational fingerprints of serum molecules can be obtained from a small amount of serum sample in minutes. The method is capable of discriminating lung cancer from healthy controls and holds great potential for non-invasive diagnosis.

Summary: In this study, urine samples from Crohn's disease patients were analyzed using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, with PCA-SVM showing higher classification accuracy in distinguishing CD patients from healthy controls compared to PCA-LDA. The metabolic changes of CD patients could be identified through urine measurements, assisting clinicians in diagnosis and monitoring of the disease progression and recurrence.

Summary: This study demonstrates the potential of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) profiling of serum as a liquid biopsy strategy for detecting renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The SERS analysis successfully distinguished RCC patients from controls and suggests the usefulness of SERS as a diagnostic and screening tool for RCC.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a noninvasive radiogenomics approach to predict survival outcomes and therapeutic responses in bladder cancer patients by combining factors such as m6A methylation status, immune infiltration, and biological pathway alterations. Through the analysis of m6A subtypes and radiogenomics models, effective performance in predicting survival outcomes and therapeutic responses was demonstrated. Interdisciplinary exploration in the combination of medicine and electronics is essential for further advancements in this field.

Summary: Several studies have found a pathological imbalance of alternative splicing events in relation to cancer susceptibility. However, the association between heritable variation in splicing events and carcinogenicity has not been extensively explored. In this study, we analyzed data from The Cancer Genome Atlas database and identified 2751 prognostic-related splicing events. A risk model with seven prognostic-related splicing events was constructed, and it showed potential as an observation of immune infiltration and clinical response to immunotherapy. Our findings provide an important reference for further understanding the role of splicing events in the tumor microenvironment and immunotherapy efficiency.
