Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic value of selected lncRNAs from the TANRIC thyroid cancer dataset. The results showed that certain candidate lncRNAs had significantly increased or decreased expression levels in malignant nodules. The combination of LRRC52-AS1, LINC02082, and UNC5B-AS1 showed promising diagnostic results in fine needle aspiration samples.

Summary: Papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC) is a common subtype of renal cell carcinoma, but its classification and prognosis assessment remain challenging. Understanding the molecular features of pRCC has led to improved targeted therapy, but reliable molecular biomarkers for assessing aggressiveness and risk of recurrence are still lacking.

Summary: LINC00958, a long non-coding RNA highly expressed in various malignancies, plays a role in enhancing tumor cells' resistance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, inducing lymphangiogenesis, and facilitating tumor glycolytic metabolism. Additionally, LINC00958 acts as a ceRNA and regulates the malignant behavior of tumor cells through the miRNA-mRNA axis, showcasing potential as a novel biomarker and therapeutic target in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Summary: This study investigated the expression and clinical significance of SOX2OT, DANCR, and TINCR in papillary thyroid cancer. The results showed that the expression levels of SOX2OT and DANCR were increased in tumor samples, while TINCR expression did not show significant difference. Furthermore, the expression of SOX2OT and DANCR was associated with certain clinical characteristics. The findings suggest that DANCR may contribute to the development of papillary thyroid cancer, while SOX2OT may contribute to both the development and progression of the cancer.

Summary: The study showed that higher expression of TTN-AS1 was associated with poorer DFS in BC patients, especially in those who underwent Re-TURBT. Knocking down TTN-AS1 could inhibit the proliferation and invasion abilities of BC cells. ATF2 may act as a downstream target of TTN-AS1 in BC, and high expression of ATF2 is also related to adverse DFS in patients.

Summary: Given the lack of overt clinical manifestations, early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have always been challenging. Recent studies have focused on using non-coding RNA (ncRNA) as biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of RA. This review provides an overview of the recent advances in mRNA-ncRNA as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for RA from the biofluid to the tissue level.

Summary: This study found that estrogen is associated with the development of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC), but the targets and mechanisms of estrogen action in PTC are still unclear. By analyzing genomic databases, differentially expressed estrogen-related genes (ERGs) were identified in PTC, and NMU was found to be one of the genes that most contributed to PTC prognosis. Further research revealed that NMU is highly expressed in PTC and its knockdown significantly inhibits PTC cell proliferation and the phosphorylation levels of the KRAS signaling pathway. These findings suggest that ERGs, particularly NMU, may serve as novel prognostic indicators in PTC.

Summary: The novel lncRNA ENST00000503625 is down-regulated in prostate cancer and correlated with tumor progression characteristics. It is deregulated in various tumors and associated with overall survival, disease-specific survival, and progression-free survival. Knocking down ENST00000503625 induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition and enhances cancer cell migration and invasion.
