Summary: This study found that lung adenocarcinomas (LUAD) with EGFR-positive and ALK-positive had a suppressive tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and were less responsive to immunotherapy. The TIME in patients with EGFR/ALK-positive LUAD brain metastases (BMs) was different from that in primary lung cancer. Evaluating the immune characteristics of LUAD BMs is important for clinical treatment.

Summary: This study found that MTA1 gene has significantly increased cytoplasmic expression in non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma and vulvar carcinoma of the condylomatous type compared to keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma and vulvar carcinoma of the verrucous type. High nuclear expression of MTA1 was associated with advanced tumor stage and higher FIGO grading. In addition, tumor samples without nuclear expression of MTA1 had significantly lower disease-free survival.

Summary: This study explored the prognostic value of CYFRA 21-1 and Ki67 in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients with wild-type EGFR. The results showed that CYFRA 21-1 positivity was associated with shorter survival time, and high Ki67 expression was also related to shorter survival in EGFR mutation patients.

Summary: The diversity of TCR and BCR repertoires plays a critical role in tumor immunity, and analyzing them may help predict the clinical efficacy of anti-PD-1 treatment in NSCLC patients. Changes in peripheral TCR and BCR repertoire diversity after anti-PD-1 treatment could serve as a surrogate marker for early detection of EGFR/ALK wild-type NSCLC patients who would benefit from the treatment.

Summary: This study demonstrates the development of NET in NSCLC without TKI targets or treatments. The under-recognition of this phenomenon may be due to less frequent re-biopsy in these patients. Tissue re-biopsy should be preferred over liquid biopsy for histology transformation consideration. p53/Rb immunohistochemistry may contribute to NET risk prediction in addition to genomic TP53/RB1 evaluation.

Summary: B7H6, a member of the B7 family of immunoreceptors, is found to be highly expressed in pancreatic cancer tissues. Its soluble form can be detected in patients' sera, and higher levels are associated with poorer prognosis. In addition to serving as a prognostic marker, B7H6 also acts as an immune modulator in pancreatic cancer.

Summary: More clinical evidence is needed to determine the priority of treatments for EGFR/ALK-negative/unselected NSCLC brain metastases. A meta-analysis of 25 RCTs involving 3,054 patients found that surgery significantly prolonged overall survival, and radiotherapy + nitroglycerin showed better central nervous system progression-free survival and objective response rate. Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based therapies, especially ICI-combined therapies, showed promising efficacies for previously treated brain metastases.

Summary: In patients with triple-negative breast cancer undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy, achieving pathological complete remission (pCR) was associated with a better prognosis. Changes in expression of CK5/6 and EGFR did not significantly impact chemotherapy outcomes, but transitioning from positive to negative expression of these markers was linked to improved prognosis.

Summary: Through RNA sequencing and data mining, the overexpression of DDIT4 was found in patients with TNBC and was associated with poor prognosis. High DDIT4 expression was correlated with decreased tumor-infiltrating immune cells and immune biomarker expression, but increased immune checkpoint molecules. Additionally, DDIT4 and its associated genes (ADM, ENO1, PLOD1, and CEBPB) were involved in the activation of apoptosis, cell cycle, and EMT pathways.

Summary: This study investigates the clinical significance of inflammation-related markers in AFP-negative HCC patients after curative resection. The results show that neutrophil times gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase to lymphocyte ratio (NrLR) is an independent risk factor associated with patient survival and tumor recurrence. Low NrLR groups have better outcomes and tumor characteristics compared to high NrLR groups. NrLR can be a simple and low-cost marker to assess prognosis and guide clinical surveillance in AFP-negative HCC patients.

Summary: This study reveals the potential molecular mechanism of Thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) in the chemoresistance of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) for the first time. TXNIP inhibits the proliferation of TNBC drug-resistant cells and increases DNA damage accumulation, thereby reducing chemotherapy resistance. Furthermore, the small molecule c-Myc inhibitor 10058-F4 enhances TXNIP expression, promotes reactive oxygen species (ROS) synthesis, and enhances the cytotoxicity of chemotherapy drugs.

Summary: This study demonstrates the effectiveness and safety of the combination therapy of sintilimab plus docetaxel as a second-line treatment for NSCLC without targetable mutations after progression from first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. Patients with high PD-L1 expression in circulating tumor cells showed higher objective response rate (ORR) and longer progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Patients with PD-L1 < 1% and CD8 >= 1% expression from their baseline tissue samples also had higher ORR.

Summary: This paper presents a sensor for H2S gas detection in meat freshness evaluation, using a NiO-doped CuO composite derived from MOFs. The low temperature precursor hydrothermal method was found to have a guiding significance in improving the gas response performance. The sensor exhibited a high response rate and good selectivity to H2S gas, making it suitable for detecting meat spoilage under low temperature storage. This work provides a new idea for meat freshness detection in cold storage environments.

Summary: The objective of this study was to analyze the value of serum miRNA-122 expression in the diagnosis, severity, and prognosis of Acute Cerebral Infarction (ACI), as well as the correlation mechanism of serum miRNA-122 on the proliferation and apoptosis of vascular endothelial cells in ACI. The results showed that serum miRNA-122 expression in patients with ACI was significantly higher than that in healthy controls, indicating its potential as a diagnostic marker for ACI. Furthermore, miRNA-122 may regulate ACI by inhibiting cell proliferation, increasing apoptosis, and inhibiting vascular endothelial cell regeneration through the CCNG1 channel.
