Summary: The preoperative stimulation with probiotics of the efferent loop through the dysfunctional bowel can reduce endoscopic and histological alterations of diversion colitis. This method is an alternative treatment when surgical options are not feasible. Stimulation of the efferent loop in patients with diversion colitis has shown a decrease in the short-term severity of colitis.

Summary: This study suggests that monogenic mutations are an important cause of hyperinsulinism presenting outside of infancy. Genetic testing should be considered in children with persistent hyperinsulinism, regardless of age at diagnosis.

Summary: Microscopic colitis (MC) is an inflammatory disease of the colon. This study aimed to determine the optimal sites and minimum number of biopsies for diagnosing MC. The results showed that biopsies from the ascending colon and descending colon had the highest diagnostic rates. To ensure a high level of certainty in diagnosing MC, a total of six biopsies should be taken from the ascending colon and descending colon.

Summary: Radiomics with deep learning models have shown great potential in computer-aided diagnosis, outperforming human experts in tasks like predicting ASD. Current research focuses on applying radiomic techniques to ASD analysis, particularly in utilizing imaging shape features and variations in brain thickness morphology.

Summary: A comprehensive review was conducted on promising new devices and technologies to positively impact endoscopist performance in detecting adenomas, thereby increasing the Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR). It was found that AI implementation ranked higher than other strategies and is likely to become the new standard in the future. However, the combination of different devices/technologies should be further investigated to enhance endoscopist detection performances.

Summary: Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have wide industrial and pharmaceutical applications, and ongoing research is exploring their physicochemical properties and microscopic formation. Understanding the transport mechanisms in DESs is crucial for adjusting properties and expanding applications. The role of hydrogen bonding interactions is highlighted, and modulation of these interactions can affect the transport mechanisms.

Summary: Microscopic colitis can be found incidentally in asymptomatic patients and is characterized by histologic features of collagenous or lymphocytic colitis. Patients with polypoid microscopic colitis were older than control patients. Some patients with polypoid microscopic colitis may develop chronic diarrhea or conventional microscopic colitis on follow-up.

Summary: This study found a high proportion of sarcopenia in children with newly diagnosed Crohn's disease based on MRI assessment. There was a good correlation between muscle mass assessed by MRI and bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Sarcopenia was more prevalent in boys, patients with perianal disease, and those receiving anti-TNF therapy. Decreased muscle mass was associated with an increased risk of relapse.

Summary: In this paper, a simple method to generate entanglement between macroscopic objects and microscopic objects using a coupled cavity-optomechanical system is proposed. It is shown that under specific working conditions, the radiation pressure of a photon can directly induce these joint entangled states without the need for measurements. Numerical simulations indicate that the fidelity of the prepared joint entangled states can reach 0.954.

Summary: In this review, the challenges in diagnosing intrauterine HIV infection are discussed and the current diagnostic criteria are rethought. Some infants diagnosed with intrauterine infection were found to clear HIV in subsequent follow-ups. The current diagnostic criteria cannot differentiate HIV exposure from HIV infection, indicating the need for better methods to diagnose intrauterine HIV infection.

Summary: Advanced gastric adenocarcinoma is a disease with poor prognosis. In recent years, new drugs, such as trastuzumab for HER2-positive tumors, ramucirumab alone or in combination with paclitaxel, and trifluridine-tipiracil, have improved patient survival. Other drugs, including monoclonal antibodies and targeted therapies, are also being evaluated.
