Summary: This technology addresses the issues of incompatibility between conventional staining and IHC, limited specimen availability, and inability to compare staining at the single cell level. It allows simultaneous visualization of conventional stains and invisible IHC chromogens, as well as recording images for further analysis.

Summary: This article proposes an efficient staining-invariant nuclei segmentation method based on self-supervised contrastive learning and a weighted hybrid dilated convolution block. The method handles the challenges of staining variations and variations in nuclei shapes and sizes in H&E whole slide imaging. The proposed approach outperforms existing methods in multiple challenging WSI datasets without the need for stain color normalization.

Summary: The study presents a macro called CmyoSize, which accurately measures the transnuclear cross-sectional size of cardiomyocytes in H&E images. It is a fully automated and standardized method that achieves high precision and is much faster than manual tracing. The results show that CmyoSize is feasible, accurate, and time-efficient for cardiomyocyte size quantification.

Summary: The study revealed that DAPI staining had a higher sensitivity in diagnosing primary cutaneous amyloidosis (PCA) and could serve as an effective technique. The positive areas in DAPI staining were consistent with amyloid deposition areas, displaying high specificity and sensitivity in diagnosing PCA.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic value of hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and immunohistochemistry for detecting cervical lymph node metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients. The results showed that immunohistochemistry is a highly sensitive technique that can detect metastases not diagnosed by HE staining.

Summary: A study compared the quality and effectiveness of the Verhoeff van Gieson (VVG) staining method with conventional hematoxylin & eosin (H&E) in measuring thermal effects in gingival tissues. It was found that VVG staining provided better visualization of the depth of thermal damage.

Summary: The study successfully engineered a biphasic system using cross-linked hyaluronic acid and naive HA solution to treat interstitial cystitis, reducing inflammation and permeability. The biphasic system demonstrated therapeutic effects by increasing the barrier effect through decreased permeability and alteration of cell metabolism.

Summary: The ultrastructure of spermatozoa of Javaen barb fish (S. orphoides) was studied using transmission and scanning electron microscopy. The spermatozoa of S. orphoides are relatively simple cells composed of a spherical head, a short midpiece, and a flagellum. The ultrastructure analysis showed the absence of acrosome, the total length of spermatozoa, and the specific organelles present. This study provides important information for understanding the reproductive biology and conservation of S. orphoides.

Summary: The study demonstrates that novel 8-amido isocoumarin derivatives exhibit potent cytotoxic and apoptotic effects in breast cancer cells. Specifically, compounds S1 and S2 show significant toxicity against MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells, while having lower toxicity towards non-tumorigenic cells.

Summary: Taste buds are specialized collections of taste-transducing cells that detect subsets of chemical stimuli in the oral cavity. Due to the continuous turnover of these cells, the taste-bud environment is complex and dynamic, requiring detailed analyses of cell types, locations, and relationships between them.
