Summary: This study suggests that NEAT1 could serve as a diagnostic biomarker for PCa with a relatively high diagnostic value. Further studies on larger cohorts are needed to confirm these findings and explore the oncogenic mechanism of NEAT1 in the development of PCa.

Summary: This study investigates how lncRNA MALAT1 cooperates with splicing factors in alternative splicing regulation. It is found that MALAT1 stabilizes the interaction between PTBP1 and PSF, forming a functional module that affects alternative splicing events. The functional module has more significance in hepatocellular carcinoma. Additionally, MALAT1 also stabilizes the interaction between PSF and other heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoparticle proteins.

Summary: Post-transcriptional modifications to coding and non-coding RNAs play a key role in influencing human mRNA and protein diversity, especially in cancer proliferation. CELF proteins have pleiotropic capabilities in RNA processing, impacting alternative splicing and transcript editing. Understanding the regulation of CELF functions, particularly through noncoding RNAs, is crucial for cancer research.

Summary: Cardiac fibrosis, characterized by excessive deposition of extracellular matrix, is a pathological process in myocardial remodeling. The novel lncRNA Gm41724 was found to play a critical regulatory role in cardiac fibrosis induced by pressure overload. Knockdown of Gm41724 inhibited CFs differentiation into myofibroblasts and alleviated pressure overload-induced cardiac fibrosis. Mechanistically, Gm41724 was found to bind with lamina-associated polypeptide 2 alpha (lap2 alpha) and regulate the activation of CFs. Downstream effector Rgs4 was identified to be involved in CFs activation.

Summary: Increasing evidence suggests that chlorogenic acid (CGA), a polyphenol with various effects, can protect against myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI). This study explored the cardiac protection mechanism of CGA and found that it could reduce myocardial infarction and NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis by suppressing Lnc Neat1 expression. In vitro experiments further confirmed these findings. Inhibiting Lnc Neat1 expression may be a potential therapeutic strategy for MIRI.

Summary: This study reveals that the lncRNA EIF1AX-AS1 plays an important role in the occurrence and development of endometrial carcinoma (EC). EIF1AX-AS1 is downregulated in clinical EC tissues and is closely correlated with tumor type. It inhibits EC cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis by interacting with EIF1AX mRNA and PCBP1. Moreover, EIF1AX promotes c-Myc translation through its interaction with YBX-1, forming a feed-forward loop to regulate EC cell proliferation.

Summary: This study identified a novel colorectal cancer biomarker and therapeutic target, MNX1-AS1, a long noncoding RNA that drives proliferation through the MYC/MNX1-AS1/YB1 signaling pathway. These findings suggest that the MYC-MNX1-AS1-YB1 axis could potentially serve as a biomarker and therapeutic target in colorectal cancer.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of Neat1 on neuronal apoptosis and found that Neat1 overexpression can inhibit neuronal apoptosis, while Neat1 downregulation reverses this effect. The results suggest that Neat1 upregulation can reduce the release of cytochrome C from mitochondria to the cytoplasm by inhibiting the PIDD1-caspase-2 pathway and decreasing caspase-3 activation, thereby preventing neuronal apoptosis and reducing secondary brain injury.

Summary: The study investigated the expression of NEAT1, IFNG-AS1, and NRIR in CCHF patients, showing that NRIR expression was significantly associated with CCHF cases and important clinical parameters. NEAT1 and IFNG-AS1 were downregulated in the case and fatal groups, suggesting NRIR may be a key player in CCHF pathogenesis.
