Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and clinical features of unexpected uterine sarcoma (UUS) in patients with uterine fibroids. The study found that UUS had a higher incidence in patients undergoing total hysterectomy, and patients with UUS were younger, had a shorter duration of the disease, earlier clinical stage, and better prognosis.

Summary: This multicenter, retrospective cohort study established predictive models for the probability of severe postpartum hemorrhage (SPPH) in women undergoing repeat cesarean delivery, based on pre-operative and intraoperative features. These models showed good discrimination and calibration, and nomograms were developed to assist in estimating the probability of SPPH and better preparing and managing patients undergoing repeat cesarean delivery.

Summary: This study analyzed the obstetric outcomes in patients with uterine adenomyosis. It found that the diagnosis of uterine adenomyosis was associated with an increased risk of placenta previa, placenta accreta spectrum, and placental abruption, as well as adverse maternal outcomes at delivery.

Summary: The objective of this study is to examine the impact of busy work days on selected neonatal adverse outcomes in different sized delivery hospitals and the entire national obstetric ecosystem. A cross-sectional register study was conducted to analyze the differences in the incidence of adverse outcomes between busy and optimal days at hospital and ecosystem levels. Results show that at the ecosystem level, the adjusted odds ratio for birth asphyxia was 0.81 on busy versus optimal days. Breakdown analysis by hospital categories revealed that in non-tertiary hospitals, the adjusted odds ratios for asphyxia on busy versus optimal days were 0.25 and 0.17, while in tertiary hospitals it was 1.20. Consequently, the busy day effect has varying impacts on neonatal adverse outcomes depending on the type of hospital.

Summary: Maternal mortality in the United States is a preventable public health crisis among young women. The role of echocardiography in evaluating pregnant women without known heart disease is unclear. A study found that older age, higher parity, and a history of chronic hypertension are associated with higher likelihood of echocardiographic abnormalities, which in turn are associated with adverse obstetric outcomes such as caesarean section and preterm delivery.

Summary: This study investigated HPV information sources and vaccine hesitancy among Chinese medical students, finding a high rate of hesitancy and convenience as the primary factor. It also revealed that individuals with a master's degree or higher and those receiving HPV information from doctors were less likely to be hesitant.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of uterine fibroid diagnosis/treatment status on quality of life (QOL) and work productivity in women living in Japan. The results showed that women with ongoing treatment for uterine fibroids had a high proportion of moderate to severe symptoms and reduced QOL. However, women with past treatment experienced improved QOL.

Summary: This study investigated the daily total water intake (TWI) of pregnant women in China, finding that the contribution from beverages and foods was 52.9% and 47.1%, respectively. Only 16.4% and 43.8% of the participants met the recommended TWI levels set by CNS and EFSA, with the contribution from beverage sources being higher than food sources.

Summary: This study examined the obstetrics outcomes of pregnancies with uterine fibroids. It found that uterine fibroids are associated with infertility and low implantation rates following in vitro fertilization. The study concluded that pregnancies with fibroids are high-risk and can lead to difficulties during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, as well as increased chances of cesarean delivery and postpartum hemorrhage.

Summary: This study compared maternal and perinatal outcomes of twin pregnancies conceived spontaneously and by assisted reproductive technology. Maternal complications were significantly higher in the IVF/ICSI group, including gestational diabetes mellitus, preterm premature rupture of membranes, and placenta accreta spectrum, compared to natural conception, but conception mode was not an independent risk factor for neonatal outcomes.

Summary: Despite high compliance with official guidelines regarding vitamin D supplements, vitamin D insufficiency was frequent and may affect placental growth. High BMI was associated with vitamin D insufficiency and increased placental vitamin D turnover, indicating the need for further investigations.

Summary: This study found that age, family history, and chemotherapy regimen were significantly associated with the progression-free survival of patients with uterine sarcoma, while age and International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics staging were significantly associated with overall survival. As age increased, the risk of death in patients with uterine sarcoma increased, while the disease tended to progress faster in younger patients.

Summary: Based on data from three ICU wards in China, DIC was found to be more common in obstetric diseases, primarily associated with postpartum hemorrhage. Patients with DIC had higher rates of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome/death, massive transfusion, and longer ICU and hospital stays compared to those without DIC.
