Summary: Bile acids play a crucial role in nutrient digestion and inflammation, and their association with colorectal cancer risk has been established. Diet can influence systemic bile acid concentrations and microbial metabolism, and consuming nutrients that reduce colonic exposure to bile acids may effectively reduce colorectal cancer risk, especially in populations disproportionately affected by the disease.

Summary: This research aims to coproduce a diet, physical activity and weight management programme suitable for UK black and Asian populations. The study will be conducted in three stages, using a systems perspective, behavior change theory and coproduction methods. The first stage involves conducting interviews to understand the experiences and intervention needs of diverse South Asian ethnic groups. The second stage includes exploring potential intervention components and developing prototype materials, while the third stage involves documenting the intervention description.

Summary: This study describes the implementation of growth monitoring and promotion (GMP) programs in Ghana and Nepal and identifies key actions to strengthen them. The study finds that health workers in both countries have the knowledge and skills to assess and analyze growth based on weight measurement. However, there are challenges in implementation, including time and workload constraints for health workers and variation in the use of growth monitoring data.

Summary: South Asia has made significant progress in reducing child undernutrition, but faces challenges in meeting all nutrition targets. Nepal, the best performing country in the region, has made improvements in reducing stunting and wasting, but there is still work to be done in addressing micronutrient deficiencies and anemia.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the diet of children and families in small-holder farming households in low- and middle-income countries. Despite a decline in overall diet quality, households owning dairy animals and those producing more milk per day were able to mitigate this decline.

Summary: The number of reports addressing inequity issues in agriculture, nutrition, and health research has increased over time. Most articles focus on describing differences in nutrition and health outcomes for different groups, while fewer look at the material circumstances and basic structural determinants of inequity. The intersections of equity issues shaping life chances and inequity's structural determinants remain understudied in ANH research.

Summary: In the past few decades, the Nepali government has implemented various nutritional policies, strategies, and guidelines. However, there has been a lack of comprehensive review on these policy documents. This study aims to describe the nutrition and food security policies in Nepal and identify the existing policy gaps. The findings can be used to develop policies and programs to address the current and future nutritional needs of Nepal.

Summary: This study used cognitive testing and validation approaches to understand how survey respondents understand questions related to ANC-related nutrition services. The study found that respondents accurately recalled the specific ANC visits recommended but struggled to estimate the total number of ANC visits. Many respondents also had difficulty understanding certain terms and overestimated the number of IFA supplements taken. Opportunities exist to improve questions to facilitate better comprehension by respondents.

Summary: Research indicates that Cameroon needs to establish a strong legal and institutional framework, as well as draw inspiration from Nepal for policy reforms. The presence of multiple legal entities complicates CF governance in terms of including peasants' membership. Both countries require reforms to overcome techno-oriented CF approaches.

Summary: Vietnam has successfully reduced population stunting but is facing challenges in ethnic minority communities. The reduction of stunting is associated with increased household wealth, improved access to health services, and changes in maternal education levels. Efforts need to focus on addressing the needs of marginalized ethnic minority groups to further reduce malnutrition.

Summary: This study shows that people in fragile environments face various shocks that impact their nutrition, and governments' policy mechanisms to promote recovery may not always measure resilience accurately. Analysis of maternal and child nutrition data from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Uganda reveals that observed recovery is not always statistically significant, and does not always meet the definition of resilience. Factors influencing measurable nutritional resilience are identified, providing recommendations for enhancing resilience in resource-constrained settings.

Summary: This study analyzed the dietary data of children in Nepal and found that infants aged 6-12 months, without appropriate breastfeeding, having under-five years siblings, with older mother or mother without media exposure or low education, from relatively disadvantaged ethnicity/caste, from urban areas, and residing in Madhesh Province were less likely to receive the Minimum Acceptable Diet (MAD). These findings can inform infant and young child feeding policies and practices in Nepal.

Summary: The study found that more effective nutrition governance in Nepal is positively associated with children's height and weight, especially in those older than 2 years. Factors such as maternal education, child's age, BMI, and absence of fever in the past 30 days also contribute to preventing child undernutrition. Significant variations in nutrition status exist across districts.
