Summary: The zero-tolerance policy towards graffiti in downtown Belo Horizonte, Brazil was not effective, as the number of graffiti tags increased after its implementation and there were no significant associations between graffiti and serious crimes. Graffiti writers in the area are selective in where and what they write, seeking visibility and longevity, adopting behaviors contrary to those of criminals who seek anonymity and invisibility.

Summary: In this Perspective, the authors discuss the challenges in catalytic hydrophosphination chemistry, particularly the dominance of catalysts that generate the same phosphorus architectures. The state of the art in stereoselective and chemoselective hydrophosphination is highlighted, as well as the progress in the chemistry of heavier homologues. The authors aim to identify the missing components in hydrophosphination chemistry to guide future research targets.

Summary: The development of diverse CRISPR-based technologies has revolutionized genome manipulation, offering tremendous opportunities in agriculture but also raising concerns about risks and governance systems. The international community will continue to discuss these issues, while responsible research and innovation paradigms aim to assess risks and benefits better. Active engagement with international deliberations, society, and national governance systems is necessary to fulfill the promises of better agricultural systems and food products.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of large-scale land investments on food security at the individual level in two villages in Ruvuma region, Tanzania. The findings suggest that these investments often deprive affected communities of their land access rights and have negative impacts on livelihoods, food security, and the environment. The study highlights a serious deficiency in the LSLI model endorsed in SAGCOT, emphasizing the importance of access to land for achieving food and nutrition security.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of trade on environment and economic growth in G20 countries from 1990 to 2019, specifically for environmentally sensitive goods (ESGs). The findings show an inverted-U shaped relationship between trade-induced ESGs and the environment, and that trade-induced economic growth leads to higher carbon emission. The stringency of environmental regulations has asymmetric effects on carbon emission.
