Summary: The study evaluated the prevalence of gonorrhoea and chlamydia infections, as well as other non-infectious diseases, in sexually active young males with urethritis-like symptoms. The results showed that urethral discharge was an independent predictor for the detection of gonorrhoea and chlamydia.

Summary: This study compared various obesity indicators and their associations with diabetes, finding that the waist area visceral index (LAP) had the strongest correlation with diabetes risk. When using a single obesity indicator for screening diabetes susceptibility, LAP was superior to other indicators, especially in women.

Summary: This study investigates the temporal dynamics of the biofeedback learning process and associated outcomes in daily life settings, testing the mechanism of the biofeedback-associated pain reduction. The analysis revealed significant pain level reduction and posture quality improvement during the first 4 weeks of the training after an 8-week biofeedback training.

Summary: The objective of this study was to determine lower back pain in patients with liver cirrhosis during hospitalisation. The study found that lower back pain was prevalent in patients with liver cirrhosis during their hospital stay, and there was no significant difference in the prevalence of pain between patients with and without ascites. Therefore, lower back pain is an important issue that deserves attention in this population.

Summary: This qualitative study investigated the impact of weekly surface electromyography-biofeedback (sEMG-BF) sessions on adults with chronic low back pain (CLBP). The study found that sEMG-BF can improve physical functioning, sleep, pain catastrophizing, anxiety, and depression in CLBP patients. Participants reported reductions in CLBP symptoms, increased self-awareness, and positive effects on sleep quality. The study also identified implementation procedures and barriers, as well as the importance of receiving care for CLBP during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the association between chronic low back pain (CLBP) and regional brain atrophy in an older Japanese population. The research found that individuals with CLBP had lower brain volumes in certain regions compared to those without chronic pain, while there were no significant differences in brain volumes between the chronic pain group in other body parts and the no chronic pain group.
