Summary: Gas freeing is a hazardous and critical operation on oil/chemical tankers, and its successful implementation is crucial for ensuring safety and preventing environmental disasters. This study evaluates the potential hazards of the gas-freeing process using the Fine-Kinney and TODIM methods, and overcomes decision-making uncertainty with the use of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The research findings are expected to guide professionals in enhancing the safety of the gas-freeing process and mitigating risks.

Summary: Due to global warming, the polar pack ice is shrinking, making merchant travel more feasible. However, even with reduced ice thickness in the summer, fractured ice still poses operational risks for future navigation. In this study, the severe bow forces experienced by an oil tanker in the Arctic Ocean are analyzed using statistical extrapolation techniques. The research aims to demonstrate the effective application of an exact reliability approach in addressing severe bow forces on a specific route for oil tankers.

Summary: This study aims to discuss the risk assessment of navigation safety for ferries. The research begins by investigating the risk factors for ferry navigation safety from relevant literature and ferry operational features. A fuzzy AHP approach is then proposed to weigh these risk factors, and a continuous risk-matrix model is developed to determine their risk levels. Empirical investigation of ferries traveling across the Taiwan Strait is conducted to validate the practical application of the proposed model. The results provide practical information for ferry operators to improve safety performances and serve as references for related research in the safety management of short-distance passenger ships.

Summary: For the first time in Iran, risk assessment of oil transmission lines was conducted in the northern regions using a combined approach of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and fuzzy methods. Eight main criteria were identified and hierarchical analysis was performed using the AHP method. Weighted maps were overlaid using a fuzzy overlay function in ArcGIS software to determine high risk areas. The study found that the southern areas have the highest risk levels, requiring more attention and review of extraction methods.

Summary: This research aims to identify and prioritize the risks related to supply chain reliability (SCR) and propose a risk mitigation model. The study reveals that postponement risk is identified as the highest priority, followed by manufacturing risk, and disruption risk is ranked the lowest. This study contributes to fill the existing literature gap for prioritization of key risks in the textile supply chains.

Summary: This paper presents the application of Fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS hybrid method in distance learning quality assessment surveys. Thirty-four judges with specific knowledge and skills were chosen to evaluate three alternatives by fourteen criteria, and statistical analysis was used to process the data. The study further provides useful guidelines for the development of an easily understandable hierarchy of criteria model reflecting the main goal of study quality assessment.

Summary: A new data-driven fuzzy AHP method (FR-AHP) is proposed for landslide susceptibility mapping. The method is compared with FEA and FGM methods in a region in Turkey, and the AUC values are calculated. The results show that the FR-AHP method has the potential to be a feasible, objective, and high-performance approach.

Summary: This paper improves the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for water quality by using AHP and Entropy, and develops a health risk assessment model based on triangular fuzzy theory. The study reveals that about 67% of phreatic water can be used for drinking purposes, with the main hydrochemical facies being NaCl type and Ca-Mg-Na type. Fluorine demonstrates moderate correlation with SO42- and low correlation with Na+ in health risk assessment. Children face higher health risks compared to adults, especially in regions with Class-5 water supplements having significantly elevated non-carcinogenic risks.

Summary: The implementation of the PES scheme in Quang Nam, Vietnam, has shown positive effects on the environment and local livelihoods, with improved forest status but lower incomes for participants compared to nonparticipants. The study suggests that the impact of interventions on livelihoods and the environment is influenced by the combination of implemented programs rather than solely the PES regime.
