With an aim to explore the interactions of (RR'C=N OH) oxime moiety of dimethylglyoxime (DMG) with pyridyl ring of N-heterocyclic aromatic compounds and acetamide, three novel cocrystals of dimethylglyoxime with acridine (ACR), 1,10-phenanthroline monohydrate (PT) and acetamide (ACT) are reported. These three cocrystals were obtained with a mechanochemical synthesis approach and were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Additionally, Hirshfeld surface analysis is used to investigate the intermolecular interaction and the crystal packing of cocrystals. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
