Summary: The study developed and validated a highly efficient method for detecting meloxicam in human plasma, using stable isotope-labeled internal standard. The method was fully validated for specificity, sensitivity, accuracy, and other parameters, providing a reliable basis for pharmacokinetic studies of meloxicam in healthy Chinese volunteers. Key pharmacokinetic parameters were determined after a single dose administration of meloxicam.

Summary: Corals form symbiotic relationships with dinoflagellate algae, bacteria, and other microbes, and nitrogen metabolism plays an important role in symbiotic regulation. Using stable isotope tracing, it was found that nitrogen assimilation in the coral holobiont may be compartmentalized, with different regions showing different nitrogen metabolism rates.

Summary: Sialic acids play diverse biological roles and linkage-specific analysis is important in glycomic studies. The combination of procainamide fluorescent labeling with sialic acid linkage-specific derivatization is presented, which allows for unambiguous assignment of sialic acid linkages and separation of sialylated isomers.

Summary: Amino acids and acylcarnitines are important biomarkers for the body's energy state and can be used to diagnose certain inborn errors of metabolism. This study developed a quantitative high-throughput method to analyze these compounds in serum samples, using minimal amounts of serum and isotopically labeled standards for quantification. The method was successfully validated and applied to serum samples from infants, showing excellent reproducibility and enabling simultaneous profiling of amino acids and acylcarnitines.

Summary: This study investigated the preparation of deuterated standard of armodafinil using a simple and inexpensive hydrogen-deuterium exchange reaction at the carbon centers. The results showed the possibility of introducing three deuterons into the armodafinil molecule, and the introduced deuterons did not undergo back exchange under neutral and acidic conditions. Both deuterated and non-deuterated armodafinil isotopologues co-eluted during chromatographic analysis.

Summary: LC-MS/MS is currently the leading technique for studying RNA and its modifications. The discovery of a non-natural ribonucleoside in tRNA hydrolysate highlights the importance of minimizing artifacts during sample preparation. Optimizing digestion conditions can lead to more accurate detection of new RNA modifications.

Summary: Brazil has a diverse plant community with underutilized non-conventional food crops that could contribute to food security. A study on Brazilian non-conventional fruits and leaves revealed them as an important source of folates, with Pequi having the highest folate content among the fruits studied. The study also highlighted the variability in folate content among different cultivars and growing locations.

Summary: Acrylamide, a potentially neurotoxic and carcinogenic compound, is commonly found in environmental bodies due to industrial usage. This study compared different calibration strategies and proposed a highly accurate and precise method, LC-ID4-MS/MS, to quantify acrylamide in wastewater samples. The ID4 strategy showed superior accuracy and precision compared to EC and ISC methods.
