Summary: The aim of this review was to synthesize qualitative literature on physical activity experiences of community-dwelling older adults with physical disabilities. A scoping review of peer-reviewed, qualitative studies was conducted, and 28 articles with 306 participants were included. The findings revealed that physical activity could bring various physical, psychological, social, and lifestyle benefits, but could also sometimes result in pain. Intrapersonal, interpersonal, environmental, and systems and program factors were found to influence physical activity participation among older adults with physical disabilities.

Summary: Objective: To determine the prevalence and predictors of physical health comorbidities in older adults with bipolar disorder. Methods: A systematic review and narrative synthesis of peer-reviewed journal articles were conducted. Results: The literature on physical health comorbidities in older adults with bipolar disorder was inconclusive, but there was some tentative evidence of higher rates of cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer. Limitations: The quality of the identified research was generally low and there was a lack of comparison with the general population. Conclusion: Further investigation is needed to confirm the elevated risk of physical health comorbidities in older adults with bipolar disorder, and clinicians should consider interventions to improve their physical health.

Summary: This study found significant associations between cardiometabolic diseases and frailty, healthcare utilization, and expenditure among Chinese older adults. As the number of cardiometabolic diseases increased, the prevalence of frailty and healthcare utilization also increased. Individuals with two or more cardiometabolic diseases had a higher likelihood of catastrophic health expenditure, and frail individuals were more likely to report higher healthcare utilization odds.
