Summary: This study demonstrated that upregulation of STEAP2 in osteosarcoma tissues is associated with a malignant phenotype and poor patient outcomes. STEAP2 expression induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and enhances infiltration and migration of osteosarcoma cells. EFEMP2 targets STEAP2 and activates the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, promoting EMT and facilitating osteosarcoma cell infiltration and migration.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of son of sevenless homolog 1 (SOS1) on invasion and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. High expression of SOS1 was observed in most human liver cancers, indicating a worse prognosis. Knockout of SOS1 significantly decreased cell invasion and migration, inhibited the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and suppressed the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. These findings suggest that SOS1 may play a role in promoting invasion, migration, and metastasis of HCC cells through the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Summary: The study demonstrated that activation of Notch1 by doxycycline effectively suppressed cell proliferation and induced S phase arrest in osteosarcoma cells, while also triggering apoptosis and autophagy. Notch1 activation inhibited the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway to induce apoptosis and autophagy.

Summary: This study found that KIFC3 is highly expressed in colorectal cancer (CRC) and is negatively correlated with patient survival. Silencing of KIFC3 inhibits proliferation, migration, and invasion of CRC cells, and regulates the cell cycle and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process. Furthermore, KIFC3 modulates the EMT process through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Summary: Exposure to PM2.5 has detrimental effects on human retinal pigment epithelial cells, including decreased cell viability and increased migratory ability. PM2.5 exposure also affects the expression of MMPs and their regulators, as well as promoting EMT through the activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Summary: The study revealed that high expression of E2F2 in gastric cancer is associated with poor prognosis, and it promotes cancer cell migration and invasion by inhibiting autophagy through the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway. E2F2 may also modulate tumor immunity.

Summary: This study demonstrated that overexpression of RILP inhibits proliferation and impairs metastasis in osteosarcoma cells by restraining the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and promoting autophagy. Grb10 was identified as a potential target of RILP in regulating the PI3K/AKT pathway. Targeting RILP may be a promising strategy for osteosarcoma treatment.

Summary: This study reveals that B7-H3 induces the upregulation of SIRT1 expression via the PI3K/AKT pathway, thereby promoting the metastasis of NSCLC. B7-H3 depletion and SIRT1 silencing inhibit the EMT process and reduce the migration and invasion abilities of NSCLC cells.
