This paper presents supervision and control power system for photovoltaic generators with battery storage. The system consists of a photovoltaic (PV) generators and a battery bank supplying kept a load. Two applications are presented throughout this paper. In the first one, the load is made variable while in the second it is considered constant in a case of water pumping. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm is applied to reach the maximum power of PV panels. In this work, two algorithms have been used. A supervision unit is also provided to allow maximum power production for the PV generator, protect the batteries against overcharge and deep discharge and satisfies the energy needs. The simulation results under Matlab/Simulink for the two applications show that the proposed supervisor makes the autonomous photovoltaic system capable of working normally by charging and discharging batteries no matter what the meteorological conditions are. This fact guarantees the effectiveness of the proposed applications. (C) 2017 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
