Summary: This study investigates the potential use of thymoquinone (TQ) from black seeds as an anticancer agent for colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment. TQ was encapsulated in lipid nanocapsules (LNCs) to enhance its specificity and cell absorption. The results showed that TQ-loaded LNCs (TQ-LNCs) were more effective than free TQ in inducing tumor cell death and reducing tumor size in colorectal cancer-bearing mice.

Summary: A novel palmitoylated glycol chitosan polymer grafted with PEG (PGC-PEG) was developed to form amphiphilic micelles, incorporating hydrophobic itraconazole (ITZ) to produce PGC-PEG-ITZ nanoparticles in the form of homogenous polymeric micelles (PMs) and nanoemulsions (NEs). NEs showed higher drug entrapment and superior anticancer activity against human breast cancer cells compared to PMs. These PEGylated GC-based nanoparticles are promising nanocarriers for improving the delivery and therapeutic activity of hydrophobic drugs.

Summary: The formation of clove essential oil loaded chitosan nanocapsules (CEO/CS-NC) using ionotrpic gelation technology was successful. The CEO/CS-NCs showed a spherical shape and core-shell structure, with an average size of 253.63 nm. The nano-encapsulation technology demonstrated controlled sustained release of clove essential oil and improved the shelf life and quality characteristics of blueberries.

Summary: This research aimed to prepare polymeric nanoparticles containing Pioglitazone as a model drug using the solvent evaporation method. The nanoparticles had a spherical shape with an average particle diameter of 323 +/- 1.15 nm. Additionally, they showed improved drug bioavailability in an in vivo system and effectively reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic rats. Furthermore, the nanoparticles did not exhibit any significant toxicity in albino rats.

Summary: A novel chitosan-modified polycaprolactone nanoparticles (THQ-CPLNPs) were designed and optimized to improve the oral bioavailability of thymoquinone (THQ). The optimized THQ-CPLNPs showed good release and mucoadhesion properties in simulated intestinal fluids. In vivo studies demonstrated a significantly improved oral bioavailability of THQ from THQ-CPLNPs compared to THQ suspension.
