Summary: Tumor budding is associated with tumor size, tumor histologic differentiation, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, lympho-vascular invasion, and early recurrence of early gastric cancer. High-grade tumor budding, especially, can predict lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer and may be an important parameter for evaluating the prognosis of patients with early gastric cancer.

Summary: In a large national cohort in the US, factors such as lymphovascular invasion, high-grade histology, T stage, and tumor size were independently associated with lymph node metastasis in early gastric adenocarcinoma. Patients with low-grade tumors, smaller than 3 cm, and without lymphovascular invasion had a very low risk of nodal involvement, suggesting they may be considered for endoscopic resection.

Summary: TB can predict lymph node metastasis and is negatively associated with overall survival of patients. Higher ZBTB7A expression in the tumor margin may contribute to the dissociation of tumor cells from the tumor mass to form TB by initiating EMT via EGFR-MEK-ERK and PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway.

Summary: The study demonstrates that modified tumor budding (mTB) is a more accurate predictor of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in early gastric cancer patients compared to conventional tumor budding (TB). It enhances the predictive power of LNM, providing important information for patient treatment.

Summary: Tumor budding (TB), a powerful predictor of colorectal cancer (CRC), was studied to develop a prediction model for lymph node metastasis (LNM) and local recurrence in pT1 CRC patients. Independent predictors for LNM and recurrence were identified and used to construct predictive nomograms for treatment decision-making. The models showed potential clinical application value and postoperative chemotherapy was associated with better outcomes in high-risk patients.

Summary: As a common malignancy, gastric cancer poses a significant threat to human health. The study retrospectively collected epidemiological data and clinicopathological characteristics of 57 patients diagnosed with synchronous multiple gastric cancer (SMGC) who underwent radical gastrectomies. It found that early and advanced SMGC have different characteristics, and the independent risk factors for lymph node metastasis include lymphovascular cancer plug and preoperative CA125 levels.

Summary: The study evaluated the clinical relevance of ECE in BC patients, finding that its presence is associated with a higher stage of metastatic lesions in the lymphatic system. However, ECE does not impact treatment outcomes, and supplementary ALND and equivalent cancer treatment procedures are still indicated regardless of ECE size.

Summary: Small clusters of tumor cells at the invasion front of the tumor, known as tumor budding, and larger clusters of cells, known as poorly differentiated clusters, are important histological parameters for assessing the outcome of colorectal cancer. However, their prognostic value for gastric cancer is less well studied and controversial. In this retrospective study, the researchers investigated the prognostic power of these two entities in a large cohort of gastric cancer patients. The results showed that tumor budding is an independent prognostic factor determining overall survival in gastric cancer, especially in intestinal type adenocarcinomas. Additionally, tumor budding can also predict the risk of lymph node metastases. However, the prognostic value of poorly differentiated clusters is lower and they have not been shown to be an independent prognostic factor for gastric cancer survival.

Summary: The study found that there was no significant impact of the intervention on QoL, depressive symptoms, or concerns about recurrence when comparing the two study arms. However, in the intervention arm, longer use of the intervention was associated with increased concerns about recurrence and decline in three QoL subscales. Future research is needed to explore the effects of adding different stories to the intervention on QoL for African American breast cancer patients.
