Summary: The space weathering of graphite on the surface of Mercury leads to imperceptible changes in reflectance over 40 Earth years. Dark spots on Mercury are recently-formed low-reflectance materials that are associated with volatile activity and have shorter lifetimes compared to their central hollows.

Summary: Patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease show higher oxidative stress and exhalation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which reduces after kidney transplantation. Kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) may have lower lung diffusing capacity, but similar H2O2 concentration in exhaled breath compared to healthy controls. The modality of pre-transplant renal replacement therapy had no effect on lung function and H2O2 levels. TLCOc did not correlate with time after transplantation.

Summary: This study used a large database to analyze post-COVID conditions in patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The results showed that a proportion of adults experienced post-COVID conditions within 31-120 days after COVID-19 diagnosis, providing important insights for healthcare practice and resource planning in follow-up COVID-19 care.

Summary: This study examines the impact of maternal education on vocabulary growth in Spanish- and English-dominant children. Maternal education was found to predict English vocabulary and growth in English-dominant children, but had no significant effect on Spanish-dominant children. These findings suggest that the effect of maternal education on language acquisition may not apply universally across different language backgrounds.

Summary: The study aimed to document the out-of-home exposure to English and Spanish experienced by children from Spanish-speaking homes in the United States during the preschool years. Findings revealed that children heard more English than Spanish outside of their homes, with grandparents being the primary out-of-home source of exposure to Spanish. Exposure to English increased while exposure to Spanish decreased from 30 to 60 months, with variability in out-of-home language exposure depending on parental characteristics.
