Summary: This study investigated the molecular mechanism of Oxytropis falcata in alleviating myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI). Flavonoids were found to be the dominant constituents of O. falcata extract (OFF1), and they reduced myocardial marker levels, apoptotic rate, and the inflammatory response triggered by oxidative stress. Moreover, OFF1 attenuated MIRI by downregulating the ROS-mediated JNK/p38MAPK/NF-kappa B pathway.

Summary: This study characterized the effects of SpvB on the NF-κB signaling pathway, revealing that SpvB inhibits NF-κB activation by targeting IKKβ and involving KEAP1. These findings uncover a novel mechanism by which Salmonella modulates NF-κB activity.

Summary: In this study, it was found that total flavonoids isolated from Penthorum chinense Pursh (TFPCP) can ameliorate hepatic fibrosis by improving liver function and morphology through the inactivation of the TLR4/MyD88-mediated NF-kappa B pathway and the regulation of liver metabolism. The mechanisms underlying the anti-fibrotic effects of TFPCP involve reducing inflammatory cytokine levels and improving liver ultrasound parameters. Additionally, TFPCP treatment led to restoration of certain metabolites levels that were altered in the model group.

Summary: This study demonstrated that Nuanxinkang (NXK) has a protective effect on ischemia/reperfusion (IR)-induced heart failure (HF). NXK modulates the ratio of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory macrophages, reducing inflammation and improving cardiac function. The results suggest that NXK could be a natural strategy for the anti-inflammatory treatment of HF.

Summary: The study found that miRNA-451 regulates the NF-kappa B signaling pathway by targeting IKK beta, inhibiting the growth and invasion ability of glioma cells. Overexpression of miRNA-451 decreased the expression of IKK beta and other proteins, leading to reduced cell proliferation and invasion.

Summary: The study explored the preventive effect of Euphorbium total triterpenes (TTE) on FCA-induced arthritis in rats and its mechanism. The results showed that TTE possessed anti-arthritis effects, and its mechanism may be related to its anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, as well as regulation of the PI3K/AKT/Bax and NF-kappa B/NLRP3 signaling pathway.

Summary: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease associated with chronic inflammation. Inhibiting the NF-κB pathway, which plays a role in inflammation, can be a potential strategy for treating OA. Natural flavonoids, a type of polyphenol with anti-inflammatory properties, have shown protective activity against OA by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway.

Summary: Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a highly contagious pathogen that causes significant economic losses to the swine industry worldwide. The nonstructural protein 4 (Nsp4) of PRRSV is shown to inhibit the activation of the nuclear transcription factor kappa B (NF-kappa B) signaling pathway by cleaving the inhibitor kappa B kinase beta (IKK beta). The cleavage of IKK beta by PRRSV Nsp4 is dependent on its 3C-like serine protease activity.

Summary: This study investigated the anti-inflammatory effect of garcinol isolated from Garcinia dulcis fruit in LPS-activated THP-1 and Raw 264.7 macrophages. The results showed that garcinol inhibited the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators and affected the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. Therefore, garcinol has the potential to be used as an anti-inflammatory agent for inflammation-related diseases.

Summary: In this study, a new non-toxic peptide NP1 was discovered, which exerted neuroprotective effects on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by reducing inflammation via the miR-6328/IKK beta/NF-kappa B axis. The results not only provide candidate drugs for exogenous peptides and endogenous small nucleic acids, but also a new drug target for the treatment of IS.

Summary: Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated uric acid levels, posing a risk for premature death. Corn silk flavonoids (CSF) were found to have a protective effect against HUA by reducing inflammation and apoptosis through the down-regulating PI3K/AKT/NF-κB pathway. This study also demonstrated the UA-lowering activity of CSF in vitro and in potassium oxonate-induced HUA in vivo models.
